Question about 2002 Honda VT 750 DC Shadow Spirit
It was running fine (hard starting - took several times- had to use the choke) - a "grinding" sort of sound while idling at a stop light; turned it off (w/ key) when I got home) - turned the key back on - NOTHING happens (lights don't come on or anything) - HELP! Just got it serviced 2 months ago; If I need to tow it to service station, who do I call?
Sounds like you killed the starter relay. If it takes a lot to start a bike eventually the contacts can weld themselves "open" causing the starter to continue cranking which would explain the sound you heard at the red light.

yes but you may have to get a small section of flat iron (any metal) and use it as a mobile mount for the rear of the pipes. the pipes will fit the block though.

On the '03 Shadow ACE it is on the left side between the "jugs" a chrome addon plate relocated mine a little higher from the stock location on a bracket off of the lower portion of the rear jug...

Sounds like a bent shift fork or two. Replacing the bad shift forks is major surgery and is NOT recommended for the inexperienced mechanic. Several special tools are needed. The top end and gearbox get totally torn down just to get to the shift forks. This is a very expensive repair, guessing $2100 or so at the dealers. Bummer. Contact a few dealers to cofirm my view of the problem and the probable repair cost. The shift forks move left and right as the shift drum is rotated when you lift or push down on the shift pedal.
