What are the settings on a Marvel-Schebler TSX 775 carburetor


Unfamiliar with this exact model #, but if this is a 1 barrel tractor carb, float should be level when inverted (ie: float edge parallel with carb edge), Main jet screwed in until bottoms (lightly) then out 1 1/2 turns (just starting point, must be fine tuned while running), Idle jet bottomed then 1 1/2 turn to start, then fine tune. All final settings made while running and fully warmed up.

wot is the problem with the carb , they are very easy to rebuild !? place all bits on white paper , clean all parts and blow out the jets and all dirt in the carb and check the float needle is clean and no grooves on the tip and moves freely in place ! put floats in a bowl of fuel and make sure the float ! slowly re fit all parts , float level is approx flat wen carb is held upside down ! re fit and fuel up and hope you have fun ! Have you checked that your float is working properly in the carb? If it is sticking with the plunger shut it will block fuel inlet regardless of having fuel supply?

Have you checked to see if there is definitely fuel in the line at the carb when it's acting up?

Have you made sure that there is still spark when it quits running? You could have something that is grounding out when it warms up and makes it quit firing that while you 'fuss' with gas issues, cools enough to spark then fails again. Hard to say without more details. Also are you sure there isn't a clogged fuel filter in the tank, carb-inlet or inline somewhere?

My name is Dane and I am going to assist you in solving your problem.

Make sure the fuel is mixed correctly. Too much oil in the mix will cause problems.

If you are still having problems, you will need to adjust the high-speed mixture setting on your Carburetor jet. Turning the screw out just 1/2 turn or so should do the trick. It is not so hard to adjust the Carburetor, however you do need a special tool that is very hard to get your hands on, in order to adjust the jet screws. They don't make many engines with plain screw heads anymore. The newer Carburetors are factory set lean so they can pass emission standards. If you have a local dealer, they should adjust the mixture for a couple of bucks. Before you take it in to the shop, make sure you haven't left old fuel in it for a long period of time and gummed those jets up. Sometimes an engine just needs to run in order to clean the jets out. If this is the case, just replace the fuel and get it running and work it normal for a tank of fuel if you can.

Just a TIP: Always mix your fuel with an approved fuel stabilizer. Fuel begins to go bad after a few months and that's why many people have fuel problems in the spring.

I need a manual for my elnita 250 by elna. It hasn't been used in 20 years so I want to make sure i'm maintaining it properly before I use it.


There are a few things I would recommend; get some Marvel mystery oil, remove spark plug and fill cylinder with the marvel. allow to sit at least overnight before draining and pull the starter a couple times to free up the piston rings. While you are waiting, remove the carb and fuel tank - flush both with starting fluid first then fresh fuel. If you are familiar with carburetors and air / fuel jets, count the turns on each respectively to bottom then remove. Soak in starting fluid for at least an hour and flush out respective ports with starting fluid then carb cleaner then fresh fuel. Use non - lubricated starting fluid as you want the highest concentration of Ether to break loose the varnished fuel.Flush out fuel lines and primer bubble ( if equipped) with fresh fuel and spark plug out. You can best do this by re - installing fuel tank and filling with fresh mixed fuel, adding the fuel stabilizer at double the recommended strength - this will not harm the motor, just help it start and stay running. Place an air hose blow nozzle in the mouth of the tank, wrap with a clean rag and gently blast air into the tank until 1/4 of fuel in tank has passed through. Cap tank and turn saw over to drain the fuel out of the cylinder, giving it at least 10 minutes to drain. Now replace spark plug and follow starting procedures - you should have it running strong now!! If it refuses to start or sputter in the first 5 pulls, remove spark plug and shoot a 2 second blast of lubricated starting fluid into the cylinder. Install plug and start. You may have varnish issues due to the lengthy storage time and you may be better served by getting a rebuild kit for the carb and rebuilding it or even replacing carb. Fortunately 2 stroke carbs are much easier to rebuild than a 4 stroke.

dont move the needle position, hopefully you drained all the old gas, get a can of carb cleaner at the parts store,remove bowl plug under carbs stick nozzle up and spray, should be a idle adjustment screw under carbs turn 1/2 turn, also when you go to to the parts store get a can of fuel injector cleaner and marvel myster oil and put in tank. then take bike for a nice long ride

I have a Marvel-Schebler carburetor, Model Tsx. My carb had needle brings in throttle shaft. When I removed throttle shaft the needle brings fell out. The kit does not have new bearing in kit. What is the...


There are no needle bearings in the carb, they came from someplace else. And I suspect a connecting rod. The only place I can think off where they could have come from. And I'll tell you why. I had a 66 Saab, 3 cyl, 3 carbs, 2 stroke,4 speed on the column, front wheel drive, rack and pinion steering, way ahead of it's time. Neat little car. Never got stuck. But, I had a problem once with a piston slapping, I could stick my finger in the spark plug hole and feel the piston come up and fall down, I said what the? So I replaced the engine, I had a spare. Took off the head and the top of the piston was just peppered with needle bearings from the wrist pin. How they got up there , I don't know, but they were there. Hope this helps.

Camry 1991- really sluggish and jerky


It's just going to take some time and simple cleaning. If there is an Auto Zone around your area, you can buy all the things needed to get the car running 100% again in no time at all for under $40.00. Here is a few things that I do when i get a new car with a few years under it's wheels. Buy a bottle of injector cleaner for the fuel injectors, like STP, a bottle of Marvel Mystery Oil to add to the engine oil, and two can's of Throttle body cleaner for the throttle body and follow the instructions on the can. Make sure it's throttle body cleaner. The Carburetor cleaner is to corrosive for the throttle body gasket. Once you have reached 3,000 miles, service the engine and have them replace the oil (5W-30) and filter and add another Marvel Mystery Oil. This will clean out all the carbon and sludge in the engine to free up the oil passage ways, replace the Air filter, and PVC valve every 30,000 miles or once a year. Cleaning out the throttle body and adding the fuel injector cleaner will also help the fuel system and have them replace the fuel filter every 30,000 miles or once a year to ensure there is no fuel restrictions in the fuel system. Once this has been done you will notice the engine runs like new and you may have to use the Marvel Mystery Oil and fuel injector cleaner every 6 months to keep the internal engine free from sludge and carbon.
