Is the speedo reading 00? If so, check the speed sensor on the front sprocket.
It will need to be replaced. It is not repairable.

Trying to figure out out how and what will be changed by going from a 15T to a 14T on the front sproket while keeping the original size on the rear. It's on a 2006 Katana GSX 600F

Hello, you will have quicker take off (bottom end) and lose top end speed, you will have the same effect if you increase the teeth on the back sprocket, if you want more top end speed do the opposite. You are changing your front sprocket from 15 teeth to 14 teeth which is going to turn the sprocket on the front quicker causing the rear wheel to go quicker, but because your engine is going to get to its maximum output quicker meaning you will lose a little on your top speed. Keep in mind if it is only your front sprocket being replaced (reduced in T) you may need to shorten your chain, it is recommended you replace front and rear sprockets along with your chain for maximum life on all 3 parts.

Popping noise coming from front sprocket when wheel is turned on 01 suzuki gsxr 600

hi it sounds like your front sproket is really worn and hooked when you turn the chain its not releasing the links smoothly ,replace it with a new one and check the condition of your chain it may be worth replacing a complete chain and sproket set as running a bike with a worn front sproket could lead to a back wheel locking up at speed if the chain jams

My speedometer isnt working

Make sure all wires to the transmission are connected. From there, change out the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) On the transmission's tailshaft. If it's still not working, you need to open up the dash and make sure it's all well connected.

My Homelite CSP3314 chainsaw starts perfectly, and warms up. I am unable to rev the saw to full power as it cuts out. I have changed the old petrol & 2stroke with fresh but problem continues.

First thing you do is remove the air cleaner and do a test run to see if you reach max speed.

If you reach max speed... change the air cleaner.

If symptom is the same without the air cleaner there are either on or 2 screws on the carb.

If you only have one screw turn the screw about 1/8th turn CCW and try it again. Keep adjusting until you get max speed.

If you have 2 screws marked H & L then make the CCW adjustment 1/8th turn and retest speed. Adjust until max speed is reached.

NOTE: If speed actually decreases after making the adjustment. Reverse direction and turn it CW.

If all ajustments make no difference then the diaphram / float in the carb will need to be checked. the diaphram for holes and the float for proper operation / debris.

Lastly.... if there is an inline fuel filter check that also.

Reinstall air cleaner.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Specification for Sprokets

I asked mechanic to short gear bike and I went for a 16 teeth front sproket. It gave crazy acceleration but it stole 15kms/h from the top speed. I never ride on top speed in any way, it is 270-285 kms per hour and here, we do not have any good road for this sort of speeds. I went for 16 front 44 rear sprockets combination and I like it. It is good for a fast street racings as well as for a long distance trips.

17 - 44 is standard gearing.

How fast can a suzuki gsx-r 750 go?

Contrary to what the speedometer might say (and GSXR 750 owners), a 2008 GSXR does not have the displacement to reach 180mph. A road test conducted in germany had a rider reach 181mph - or what said 181mph on the speedometer - but was actually clocked on radar going 173mph. 173mph is what a GSXR will reach at around 1200 feet altitude and 65 degrees fahrenheit. Depending on the altitude and temperature, you might have slight fluctuations. If you want to go 180mph+, just get a GSX1000R
