Question about 1991 Honda CBR 1000 F
Take front fender off take the two caliper bolts loose and on the left hand side if you have an anti dive system you will have to take that bolt out as well try not to let them hang in mid air because this will but tension on the fluid lines..now take the two screws off the top of you brake reservoir and just slightly pull it up not off..this will give pressure relief for when you push real hard on the old brake pucks that are now still in the calipers..push and push hard until they collapse all the why back up flat against the calipers.
Now you can remove the old pucks but make sure you look to see which way the anti rattle spring clips go. Now with clean hand install the new pucks into the calipers and now try to work them over your brake disk...then just re-install all the bolts with a dab of locktite and check the reservoir to see if it needs any further fluid, if not, tighten those screws down and you're almost done..this part is the most important you must cycle you handbrakes at least ten times..get on them to make sure it has a good positive feel...you dont want to go to fast on your first ride with new brakes anyway..just casually ride down the street and scuff the pads in...you dont want to go really fast and slam on the breaks real hard or they"ll be glazed over and will not severe up to its best quality
stops. so go slow for first 5 miles... nice gradual stops!
