Previous owner may have had a problem w/switch and disconnected it. If your bike runs fine ignore the switch. If you want the switch to work try hooking it back up or buy a new switch

Hi, Tim again, don't get too worried about which wire where. The kill switch just interrupts the flow to the ignition by disconnecting the two wires at the switch..thats why your bike will run if the two wires are connected or not run if they are separated or capped off. Put the two back on where they are long enough to fit. Either one on either connector will do the same job....

Hi Anonymous, after careful deliberation 4 out 5 Harley Gods give this one a thumbs up, but just to be on the safe side you should give your local dealer's parts/service department a call to confirm. Good luck and have a nice day.

Ignition wiring diagram as I have faulty switch on my 1987 yamaha 100 ag bike as it is only ever used as a farm hack on my property Iwish to do away with the switch how can I do this thankyou Mark

I think if you disconnect the entire ignition plug, it should kick start, and turn off with the kill switch.
The lights wont work,
The ignitions actually work as a kill switch in the off position

No spark, where is the coil?

Follow the plug wire and it will lead you to the coil.
Make sure the kill switch is in the run position and the wires in the kill circuit are not bad or shorted to ground,
Good Luck and Ride Safe

Can't get spark

Kill switch works one of two ways. Either it grounds you out, killing the spark or it disconnects a circuit shuttig ignition off. So...forget the switch for a moment and wrap the two wires together, try starting, nothing ? then separate the two wires and make sure they are not touching any metal parts, try starting again.....now you have eliminated the switch as your problem.....cap off the wires and don't hook them to the switch if your bike is now running....Good luck to you friend....tim
