Mine did the same thing. I took the air filter off and there was about a half inch of gas sitting in the bottom, so I just soked that up started the wheeler and covered the air hole w my hand and hit the gas. After that it started working. It died when I did that and then it started right up.

sounds like it might have a small leak in the head gasket that only leaks when it gets war get it up to temp then be carefull and pull out one of the plugs and see if it is wet or the end is nasty like water has been on it you might notice a slight milky color to the oil also

Sounds like a carburetor problem if you have one. That is the point where the carb moves from low speed jetting to the high speed. Have someone clean your carb.
