What is the C0265 error code

The ABS EBCM anti-lock brake module is failing causing problems with the ABS pump running constantly, also will drain your battery.
  1. Remove the ABS fuse to prevent ABS motor burn out.
  2. You can still drive your vehicle with the module removed.
  3. We recommend covering the exposed surface of the hydraulic control unit with aluminum foil to keep out water and dirt.
Common Failures:
  • ABS Pump Always Running
  • Codes: C0265, C0267, C0268
  • Pump Motor Circuit trouble code

Abs light is on 2003 chevy truck how can i find my problem

The ABS and parking brake lights kept coming on in my boyfriends 2001 Chevy s10. We took it to the Chevy dealer and they ran a diagnostic on it determining that the ABS module was shot (common problem for them mechanic said). The cost to have it fixed at the dealer was about $750. I found a place in Moscow Idaho that rebuilt the module for $130!!!! YAHOOO! You have to pay about $35 in shipping costs ($17 each way) but they returned it to us in 3 days.I was able to remove the module myself and didn't need to mess with the brake lines/fluid--it was simple and took about 10 minutes to remove it. The site steps you through removal/installation if I can do this so can you! Go to www.modulemaster.com to determine if you have an ABS module that they can rebuild. It's guaranteed for 5 years and if we had the dealer replace it they would only guarantee it for 1 year. So go to the module master and save some cash!!!!

I have vw passat 1999, 1,8 turbo gasoline, tiptronic transmission. sometimes on the board ABS BREAK blinks and at that moment this system does not work. sometimes it doesn't blinks and ABS works. what does...

These cars use a Bosh 5.3 ABS module that is prone to failure. You have several options:

First, have it rebuilt. There are dozens of rebuilders on ebay. I haven't tried any of them, but they charge anywhere from $100 - $200. You have to remove the module yourself and send it in.

Your second option is to have VW do the work. They will sell you a complete ABS module/pump/solenoid setup (which VW insist cannot be sold separately). The total cost for parts for option 2 is about $1600 (plus labor).

Your third option is to try and find a working ABS module in a wrecking yard. I did this, but the wrecking yard went through three modules before they found one that worked and that was the right PN. You'll need to know the PN of the entire ABS pump/module assembly. This cost me about $200, but I have a spare pump now (yay).

Your fourth option is to try and find a new ABS module without the pump. A few online vendors have them, but they're about $500.

Finally, you can just give up on it and live without ABS.

So, here is how to remove the module:
1. Raise your vehicle and remove the driver's front tire.
2. Remove a few of the torx screws that secure the front fender lining.
3. Pull the fender lining out of the way.
4. Remove the windshield washer reservoir (you need to do this for clearance, I think it is only held in by 3 bolts, and is the only reason for steps 1, 2, and 3).
5. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir (just unbolt it and move it aside for clearance -- don't remove the actual hydraulic fluid lines from the reservoir).
6. Disconnect the ABS connector. There are actually 2 of them - one on top of the module and one on the bottom.
7. Remove the 6 torx bolts that connect the control module to the ABS pump.

Some of the process is illustrated here (although, they cheat and do half of the steps with a module that is already removed from the car):
http://www.bba-reman.com/content.aspx?content=Bosch_5.3_ABS_Removal

There is no risk of fluid leaking and you can continue to drive your car (once you put the wheel back on). There are also instructions on how to rebuild the unit yourself, but don't try to do it unless you are REALLY good with a soldering iron. A microscope would also be helpful.

2001 suburban abs motor will not turn off

The ABS relay should be located in the fuse box located on the drivers side inner fender in the engine compartment. Lift the lid and check the location diagram on the inside cover to locate the correct relay/fuse.

A related issue may be a loose ground wire. There is one located on the top rear of the engine block. It is a bolted connection. Remove this bolt, clean the surfaces and replace. This simple step has cured many electircal issues on these trucks.

I have a 1989 s-10.The parking brake light blinks six times, pauses then flashes again.I was wondering what trouble code that would be???Thanks.

RWAL Fault codes
Codes for Dodge RWAL, Ford RABS and GM RWAL applications are similar but have a few differences:
  1. Should not occur (replace the controller if it does)
  2. Open isolation valve circuit or defective ABS module
  3. Open dump valve circuit or defective ABS module
  4. Grounded or closed RABS or RWAL valve switch
  5. Excessive actuations of dump valve during ABS braking
  6. Erratic speed sensor signal
  7. Shorted isolation valve or defective ABS module
  8. Shorter dump valve or defective ABS module
  9. High resistance or open speed sensor circuit (resistance should be 1000 to 2500 ohms)
  10. Low speed sensor resistance (Dodge & Ford only)
  11. Open speed sensor circuit (GM only)
  12. Stop lamp switch circuit (Dodge & Ford)
  13. ABS module speed processor (Dodge & Ford only)
  14. ABS module program (Dodge & Ford only)
  15. ABS module RAM memory failure (Dodge & Ford)
To manually clear a stored fault code on GM and some Dodge trucks with RWAL, remove the ABS fuse or disconnect the battery for 5 seconds. Ford RABS codes will automatically clear when the ignition is turned to the off position.

XK8 abs module

We have the same problem with our BMW. Dealer quoted close to $1500, with a one year parts warranty. Go to Module Masters at www.modulemasters.com.

They show detailed info on how to remove your unit, and will rebuild one for a 2001 XK8 for $150. The unit for our BMW is $300.

I have heard great comments about Module Masters. Well worth a shot!
