It's possible that the sound is made by petrol vapour escaping from the fuel tank vent. If you open the filler, there may be a short hiss as pressure releases, and the humming sound will be gone when you close the filler cap. If my diagnosis is correct, the sound can safely be ignored.

SOURCE: kawasaki z1000 wont start and the f1 light flashes

The flashing FI is telling you that the Fuel Injection computer has detected a problem in the system. Some problems are minor (dirty air filter) and the computer will still allow the bike to run. Some problems are major (plugged up injectors) and the computer will not allow the engine to start. You will need to have a dealer check the computer diagnostic reading to find out where the problem is.

SOURCE: 2006 Kawasaki Z1000 fuel pump not working.

With the ignition on, use a test light to see if power is getting to the pump. If there is power to the pump, then the relay is doing it's job and you may eliminate it as the problem and look at the pump for the solution. If no power to the pump, check to see if the relay is receiving power, if it is and not relaying it to the fuel pump, the relay would appear to be at fault. And so on.....

Kawasaki z1000 2010 won't start\

Has it been standing for a long time? Do you have petrol? Have you checked the battery? Do any lights come on when you turn the key. Is the kill switch set on run. Have you checked all fuses. The list is endless. Is the alarm if fitted working OK. You need to start from scratch. I would suggest remove the battery and check the voltage approx 12.5 to 13.2 V. (Remember to disconnect the negative lead first, when you refit connect the positive first). If the voltage is below 12 your battery is probably shot. Another test to try is see how long the battery can power a 21 watt bulb if it dims almost straight away you need a new battery. Once the new battery is filled you need to charge it for a few hours do not exceed a 1 Amp charging rate you will shorten the batteries life if you do. Good Luck
