Motor wont run on craftsman opener

I installed a craftsman garage door opener a few months ago without any problems. Tonight the door cable came off pully, so I took door cables off and closed the door with opener. That apparently was a big mistake. Although the door was attached to the opener, the weight of the steel door sent it flying closed. Now the opener will not move. I press the open/close button and hear a humming sound that lasts for a couple of seconds. I removed the belt and tried again...no luck. Does anyone know what's going on. Maybe a fuse or something?

You need to remove the cover and look at the drive gear. It is probably stripped. I really recommend a technician to repair your door.

Garage door moves few inches and stops, springs are fine, sensros are fine.

If it is not blinking when it stops, then the capacitor is blown. Replace the capacitor and it should resolve the problem.

It sounds like you have a loose connection. Pull the logic board and check for bad connections especially around the small transformer.

Craftsman Garage Opener (Unit run front & back only for 2 second)

Double check to make sure the sensors are wired correctly. The 2 solid white wires go to terminal 2 and the wires with black stripes go to terminal 3. If the wiring is correct then you possibly have a bad RPM sensor. The RPM sensor is a small circuit board just in front of the motor.

Sears Craftsman Garage door opener does not open or close

The drive gear is most likely stripped. It is a white nylon gear just in front of the motor. The parts number is 41A2817 and is available from Sears or any good door opener service company. It comes with instructions.

Garage Master 1/3 HP 1997 Door Working, not responding to Remote

I have the exact same situation, except my model (139.53607) is older than yours and does not even have an LED. Remotes only works after after shop light goes off (5 minutes or so), but wall button works fine. Did call Sears Service and the tech told me the logic board is probably shot. Don't want to waste money on service call so I'll probably have to buy a completely new unit in the Spring and go through the winter without the use of a remote.

The garage door has power coming to it . When I press the remote the unit makes a humming sound but nothing happens at all

clicking can be an overheated motor from trying to much. other idea is troley opened too far and lodged against bolt on rail by motor.
