SOURCE: oil drain plug

Hi
It is located on the right side just under the oil tank ; if you follow the rudder hose that exits the rear right side of your oil tank it leads to the bottom of the frame under this is the oil plug. This hose has a plug clamped to the end of it or stuck into a prug that is welded to the frame.
After this unclamp and pull the plug to make sure that you have the dipstick out before pulling it loose.

Please do rate the solution as "FixYa" if found useful and revert for further assistance.
Thanks Rylee

SOURCE: removing harley davidson ultra classic gas tank

Drain the fuel either by siphening or removing the cross over tube at the front of the tank and letting it drain that way or just block off those cross over lines and leave the fule in the tank for removal.

0) remove seat
1) drain fuel
2) undo cross over line (bottom front of gas tank.
3) shut off pet **** and remove fuel line from pet ****.
4)there should only be 2 bolts holding the tank on, one at the top front of the tank and one at the back of the tank.

All in all a pretty easy (but possibloy messy) job.

Back of the seat remove the fender bolt..on both sides of the seat where your *** sits are two large torque bolts...You dont have to remove the tank Heritadge has fatbob tanks..remove the 1/2 inch nut holding down your speedometer raise it up and your wire will run through their. you have two seperate tanks their is space between them on the frame.

SOURCE: how to change oil for2007 heritage softail classic

The oil drain us usually a hose with a plug in it that is held by a clip on the frame. It us usually on the right hand side of the bike just behind and underneath the transmission side cover. Loosen the clamp and pull the plug out. The oil will run out of the tank. Replace plug and add new oil to the tank.

The fork oil is a very specific job needing a manual and a special tool, I don't want to insult anyones mechanical knowledge but if you have never done it before, best to take somewhere else. Engine oil on the other hand is easy, the drain tube to any softail is on the right side by where the frame meets the swing arm, has somekind of plug in it. Start and run bike for a little while, long enough to get it warm but not hot. Remove fill plug and then remove plug in drain line. Using a peice of cardboard or something put in between filter and frame , directing the oil to your drain pan instead of where ever it goes. Put 1 qt oil back in (after everything is reinstalled) start the bike and make sure the oil light goes out, when it does shut bike off and fill to the point that when it is standing upright you get a little oil on the tip of your finger, over filling may result in loss of oil cap from pressure (been there)

My 06 hertage leaking gas out of the top when its full from under the center councel

I would suspect a gasket leak from the fuel pump access panel

The square hole on the center in the picture below:

Remove the center console and see what you can see.

I have a 2001 harley softail heritage and some times when i am at a stop then go to take off the bike idels fine but when i give it some gas it wants to stall

Hi Brannon03, if you have a carburator the usual suspects are:
1. Damaged or restricted fuel tank venting system (gas cap).
2. Inlet system air leak.
3. Vacuum piston malfunction.
4. Accelerator pump leaking or no output.
5. Plugged bowl vent.
6. Fuel level (float chamber) too low.
7. Restriccted fuel supply passages.
8. Plugged jets or passages.
9. Worn or damaged needle or needle jet.
10. Enrichner valve not seated or leaking.
Good luck

Where are the oil drain plugs on 06 heritage softail

Oil tank drain plug is a hose on the right side of the bike that goes down to a fitting on the frame, behind the transmission. The drain plug is threaded into this fitting on the frame and is accessible from under the right frame rail.
Trans drain plug is underneath the trans housing.
Primary drain is to the rear of the primary housing.

I have a 2001 Harley Roadking 88 Twincam fuel injection system problem bike had been sitting for long time and fuel is leaking from fitting`s below fuel tank how do you R&R seals.

You need special o-rings from H-D parts and then need small screwdrivers or like tools to replace them. Often there is trouble with this and people end up with a new tank fitting which requires disassembly of the tank top, removal of the fuel pump and filer etc. etc.

Fuel Tank leaking

remove the tank , empty it , remove fuel level sender, clean gasket and if still in good condition, refit with grease or a non hardening sealant(fuel proof)
