Question about Enfield Motorcycles

Throttle problems My 2005 Royal Enfield Machismo is giving some trouble which i think is a carburator/ fuel line problem. after increaing the throttle to the point of changing gears, when i engage the clutch, the engine rpm does not go down..or u can say it goes down very slowly. it sounds like im still giving a little throttle during gear change and the engine picks up from there after that. there is a lot of backfiring happening as i changed my silencer to a freeflow one, but the mechanic says he has tuned the carbs accordingly. another problem which comes along with this one is that sometimes while giving throttle, there is a missing which continues for some time, and at times the bike stalls if high throttle is not given repeatedly. dont know if they are related, but both problems usually come together. ive been to the mechanic everyday for the past week and i think even he is baffled by the problem. please give some insight as to what the reason can be.

  1. Fuel, Air and the lines.
  2. Tune your vehicle and get fuel especially from reputed brands like SHELL
  3. If water has entered your fuel tank this will happen, I mean Backfire and no response. This is till the water or air clears you know
  4. Service your vehicle from a person who is a specialist in Enfield's not any one.

SOURCE: R6 hesitation when starting out

Not often i see good questions like this. I would start with riching the carbs a bit. Another possible simple solution is to get your plugs check to make sure they are firing at full capacity, either one can cause the problems you have described. My first guess though would be the carbs, it sounds like the throttle is set a bit off to what it should be at. The fact that your bike runs fine otherwise also suggests this conclusion.

The gearbox needs service work the selectors are worn and I suspect also the gears themselves. Hope you have some money saved! (2 x Yamahas and 1 Royal Enfield)

Oil leak in breather pipe

dear all,
i am having machismo 350 2005 model, i am having same problem the speed of input oil in catch can is fast and out put from catch can is slow that why the catch becomes full and overflows to the filter chambers and spill over silencer and rim.
i have spent a lot of money for this problem, took my bike so many times to service centre, once they billed me for 9000/- saying that there is back compression in chamber which is creating turbulence in oil chamber which throws out oil through breather, they changed my piston set, once they called an engineer from chennai to jaipur and he made to holes in inner chamber wall, well with all this what i concluded that this is a design defect in this model.
recently i searched for machismo model from 2005-2007 on olx and found so many owners, i consulted with many of them and they all faced same problem, this made my conclusion that there is adesign defect in this engine.
Now think, lets organise and sue the company for it.

Leaf blower does not respond when increasing throttle and engines

Unit is either having trouble picking up enough fuel or muffler is plugged. First disassemble the muffler and check that the flame arrestor screen is not clogged. Clean as needed. Cost, $0. Check fuel pickup line from fuel tank to carbureator for cracks. Replace if brittle or cracked. Next would be to check the diaphram in the carbureator. Even a small hole or crack can cause this problem.

Check oil level in front shocks

how long? Also sez level height 370-380mm from where? I guess I'll get a 3/16 dowel stick (5mm = .196) from hardware store. Also oil type shop manual sez 10w-30. Snidel sez 20-20w or ATF. Just making sure.straighten out a clothes hanger and stick it in until it bottoms.  If both sides are the same I'd say you were OK.  If not drain and refill with whatever you intend to use, it really doesn't make much difference.,,,
