I recommend purchasing a battery maintainer ($30) for your battery. Most bike batterys will become dead if allowed to drain to low. The maintainer cycles the battery while it not being ysed

Have you checked the charging output from your alternator? With the engine running, you should get about 14 volts across the battery terminals. If the battery is good, after a charge you should get a reading of around 12.7 to 13.2 volts. If the voltage is less, especially with the motor running, you may have a charging problem due to rectifier bank failure or battery breakdown due to "overcharging" if the reading is above 14 volts. [This is also a rec' fault]. My assumptions are that this batt' goes flat when run on the bike after a full charge. I hope this helps a bit.

Mobile phone battery not holding charge and going flat to quick

hi, now this is a very common problem the only thing you can try is to let the battery go totally flat and keep switching it on untill the phone wont even light up.
Then what you need to do is give it a full charge for at least 8 hours this may lengthen the time your battery takes to go flat.

Now what the shop should have told you and didnt and what they should tell you in the owner's manual and dont is that once a month you are supposed to let the battery go totally flat and then do full recharge.
Doing this will ensure you get maximum time out of the battery and it makes the battery last at lot longer before you need to replace the battery.

If after doing this your battery only last an hour or two then the chances are the battery needs replacing so if you do this just remember to let it go flat at least once a month as the battery never does a full charge due to the fact that the battery never goes totally flat so this then causes bad cells in the battery so follow those rules and your battery will last longer than normal

Symbol "G" and "E" are not related to this problem."G" means GPRS and "E" means Internet .The charging problem might comes due to bad charger or cgharging coil might fused or charging filter (IC) might sort.

For the past few weeks it has sounded like my Jaguar was struggling to turn over. Now it won't start at all. What should I do?

first thing you need to do is check the battery has not gone flat, check the battery connections are not corroded if they are undo them clean them up with some rough sand/glass/rubbing paper, then see if it will start, check the connections are tight, if it still dont start turn the ignition on the turn the head lights on then turn the key to start the car get some one to look at the lights whilst doing this if they go dim or off then your battery is flat.

if it is flat you need to get your alternator tested as this may not be charging the battery properly or it could be the battery needs replacing

a few of the main reasons a battery will go flat is if you are only doing short journeys and you have the lights on or heater or air con on if you have any of these on and your only doing short journeys then this is your problem, you car is not charging the battery up enough due to the short journeys its best if you are only doing short journeys to only use what you need to use such as lights. anything else causes the battery to drain quicker than it charges.

you could get some jump leads and get some one to jump your car that way then once its started go for a long drive at least an hour to fully charge the battery again, or buy a battery charger and charge you battery that way.

if the you have a picture of a battery on your dashboard that it lit whilst you are driving then this is telling you the battery isnt charging due to a fault with the alternator

hopefully i have given you a few ideas of the kind of problem you are having

The chair has been standing idle for quite some months and the battery is obviously dead. Will I be able to re-charge the batteries or will I need to purchase new ones?thanks

Hi. This depends on how the batteries perform after you recharge them.
Sometimes you can get a bit more life by completely running them flat. Then reverse charge them. Then run flat again and recharge the correct way. Use a light bulb to run them flat. You will need to remove the batteries from the machine to do this. When you charge the batteries, charge them in parallel with a 12 volt car charger. Keep the charge rate down to 4-5 amps. This will ensure that both batteries are charged up to the same level.
Be carefull with batteries, as they give of hydrogen and oxygen gas when charging, and this can explode if there are any sparks from the charger terminals.
After doing this try the batteries in the machine. Charge them with the correct charger and see how far you can travel.
The batteries probably wont be as good as new ones, but they might do for a while.
Good luck. Neil.

When in gear bike cuts out when moving off? is this problem due to a faulty stand switch. my bike has been in the garage over the winter and jusr run up to top up the battery, had no problems in the past.

sounds like its the safty cut out switch on the stand to me as well, you should see it by looking under the bike by the stand,,,its just a push in switch,,,
as for leaving the bike over winter with out charging the battery up,,,well smack your legs! you will soon need a new battery for that!
il give you a tip here!!!! get yourself a cheap solar charger of say 2.5 watts hook that to the bikes battery and leave the charger in good light,(sun light is good) but good day light works as well, this will keep the battery fully charged up all winter and can double the life of the battery,,,cheap power?

the best way to test this is to take off the battery and let it stand for a time if the battery still gos flat its the battery its self,, if its good after a week or so use an avo meeter to find out how much of a leak you have got, if its only say about 100ma's or so its the alarm draining the battery any more than this look at the alternator this could be were the leak is draining back all cars leak a small amount of curent from the battery if left standing my 4x4 would have a flat battery in a month if i left it stood
the way to get around this is to get a 12 volt solar charger the bigest one you can get your hands on say at least 2.5 watt's there about £20
it only needs day light to charge the battery up but full sun light it better
plug it into the cigarette lighter socket and that will keep the battery charged up when you leave the moter standing around unused byt do take it off before you start the engine up or your going to cook the charger up,,my 4x4 never ever had a flat battery after i fitted a solar charger it was the best £20 i ever spent,, its now keeping my motor bike battery charged up!!!!!!!!

Battery goes flat when standing for 5 days. Ford

if the battery is one year old and older, the power drains specially if it stays idle for a week or more. if the battery is new, it will not drain fast. there are components directly connected to the battery bypassing the ignition key such as the clock, warning system, etc.

I have a battery charging problem on my Gateway Solo1450 laptop. The battery is new and gave me 30 minutes of battery only run time after taht it would not charge. I set the commands (Enabled) in the BIOS...

hi, if the battery is new then you need to start looking at things like the charger. If the old battery was used for a long time, and as they have only a few months life span then this puts extra work on the charger due to the fact that when the battery is new it holds its charge and recharges fully now the problem is when the battery is old it dont hold the charge and runs flat alot quicker so this puts extra strain on the charger is its trying to charge a battery that wont charge properly as well as keeping the laptop working. This tends to cause problems with the charger due to it over heating so this is what i would look at first.

The second and less likely cause might be that due to the old battery over heating due to it not holding a charge this may have caused some components or solder on the circuit board to fail this isnt very likely but does happen from time to time.

What i would do first is take your laptop and charger into a small computer repair shop and just say to them you dont want any work doing but is their any chance you could tell me if my charger is working or not, play it like if i need a new charger youll buy it from them or if they say the board is damaged just say to them that you will bring it back when you have the money to pay for it. This way your not obliged to leave them with the laptop and you will then find out the fault for free. At least if they say its the charger then you could then get it off auction site instead of the computer shop.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance.

Try this first though use the laptop untill the battery is totally flat i mean flat so much that it wont even light the laptop up then without using the laptop plug the charger in and then leave it to charge for say 12 to 16 hours so that its had chance to do a full charge from flat this then may solve your problem.

Also doing this process every month will ensure you get maximum life out of your battery

My Audi A4 will not tick over and if left standing the battery goes flat after 2 days

Batteries that go flat is related to Charging Systems that don't Charge or Batteries that can't hold Charge. The clicking is not enough voltage to yur starter.Have someone Jump Start or Tow to Service Station they will use instruments to check status of charging system, battery.A loose belt can cause insufient charge.Good Luck
