I have a piaggio x9 125 2003 and its not getting any fuel from the tank to the carb. it has been sat for a couple of years also the starter button does not work but the starter turns over when i short the...

Check the line from the tank to the carbs, disconnect where it goes into the carb and see if you have fuel flow. If nothing then try blowing back up the line to the tank to see if it is blocked as stale/old fuel can go off and cause a blockage in pipes and filters.
The following may not be applicable to your machine, but my bike's fuel tap is operated by vacuum and needs the engine running to open the tap up and allow fuel to flow. There is usually enough fuel in the carbs to fire the bike up and open the tap, but it does have a "priming" position just in case they are dry.

I've got a piaggio zip 4t . It runs pefect for a bout 2 miles then cuts out when I open throttle. New coil new plug. New carb. Cleaned filters. Cleaned exhaused but still does it.

sounds like your fuel pump is faulty or the fuel line from the pump to the carb is deteriorated and breaking up and letting small particles of plastic or rubber go through and block the carb float needle.Remove carb and clean it out then replace fuel line.

Hello crosby, it still sounds like a fuel delivery problem or fuel mixture. Also a possibility is a restricted exhaust. Like carbon buildup that is creating too much back pressure. The carb being "blown out" is not going to properly clean it. The best way to clean all the jets and passages is to remove it & have it boiled or ultrasonic cleaned. The not being able to kill problem is a wiring problem. The spark is not being shut off, (voltage) Trouble shoot these areas and let me know what you find. I hope this helps.
