Your sinchronizers are worn. They might need replacement. A temporary fix wich can help shifting is replacing your actual gearbox oil with a synthetic lubricant. These lubricants help reducin noise and make shifting softer.

Went from 2nd to 4th? 3rd clutches are gone. Wouldn't shift to 3rd or OD. Solenoid or valve body problem. Have the codes read. Not sure for the year... 4l60 or 4l60e?

Sounds like the clutch is starting to go out, my Sierra did the same thing between 3rd and 4th. Time to get the tranny overhauled or replaced.

The Transmission is likely shot. That year along with others had transmission defects. My new 2002 TLs died at 21k miles. I go to Acura for most all service and they gave me a $1500 discount on a tranny. It still cost me $3500.
