Yap! for CRT TVs with ring of colors, do the following to solve the problem; find a normal magnet from a retired speaker , just switch on the TV and while the TV is On, hold the magnet about 15CM from the screen while moving it arround the whole screen area. when it starts to degause/to be clear just move the magnet around the screen while moving further away from the TV screen let say 20CM, 25CM , 35 cm etc.

How much does picture tube for 42 inch flat screen Sanyo TV cost

There is no picture tube in a modern flat screen TV.
And unless it's physically broken, it's usually something else that has failed and not the screen.
A picture tube is a CRT (cathode ray tube) that sends electrons from the back to the front to light up different color phosphorous dots.
A modern flat screen TV on the other hand is LCD (liquid crystal display) that turns on and off to allow backlighting through multi colored filters. (LED TV also uses a LCD screen, the only difference is the backlighting is LED and not fluorescent lamps.)

If so I believe your CRT liquid coolant has gone bad and needs replaced.
How to diagnose bad CRT Coolant:

Note: This problem will only affect the GREEN and BLUE picture tubes. The RED CRT is never affected, because the wavelength of the red light does not promote this algae growth
General Symptoms: Washed out, blurry picture, red portions mostly OK, GREEN images have halos, BLUE portions of images may have halos or be missing entirely.Turn the color level control all of the way down and remove the screen and/or the cabinet that contains the mirror. (different for different models) Do not turn the set off or the color level control will reset to preset levels. Look directly into the picture tube lens while the set is on. First look at the RED CRT. Observe the scan lines in the picture. These same lines should also be present in the green and blue picture tubes.
After looking at the RED CRT for comparison, look into the GREEN or BLUE CRTs. If it is contaminated, it will look like there is a layer of film that you have to look thru to see the picture. There may also be swirls and other various contaminates forming. If it is not as clear and sharp as the RED CRT, it is contaminated, and you should change the coolant fluid. IF you wish to tackle this I will supply more information and instructions. This task is medium to hard for non trained people.
Let me know if you wish to get the instructions on changing the fluid.

Red tint in picture whats wrong how can i fix

These sets are known for bad coolant. Between the picture tube and projection lens there is a layer of coolant that breaks down over time causing the picture to loose its sharpness and for one or more of the three colors to have a bad "tint". This can be a very tricky repair involving removal of the picture tubes and lenses. Best to have a repair shop check it out for you. Thanks for using fixya.

BLUE TINT ON MY SCREEN

Philips tv's have always had this problem. Between the picture tube and focus lens there is a layer of coolant fluid. The coolant fluid, over time, will break down and turn a brownish cloudy color and it usually starts with the blue. Something to do with the color frequency. Have a good repair shop check it out and if the fluid is the problem have them change all the fluid in all 3 picture tubes (there is a red, green and blue tube). Don't feel bad, like I said all the philips projo's had this problem. Thanks

Picture

Sounds like the deguassing cicuit has failed . This aligns the purity of your colors .Most of the time it is a simple loose connection on the themistor or the degaussing input cord to the board . Or the thermistor is bad . The tv was not dropped ? If it was this could have loosened the shadow mask in the picture , then the only way to repair is the replace the picture tube . Good luck

Panasonic Color Rings

It sounds like you have a warped shadow mask in your picture tube if your set uses a picture tube. A shadow mask is like a screen wire that lets the three color guns shoot electrons to their respective phosphor dot on the screen to produce the three primary colors which are mixed properly to produce the scene that is being shown. In other words you have a bad picture tube. Stargazer

Color rings on hdtv

Sounds like a CRT (picture tube) that did suffer a bit of a blow to it. The rings are caused by the thin sheet of steel inside of the CRT called a shadow mask being warped. The other cause for this is the internal degauser in the TV comming on and staying on too long causing damage to the CRT. Either way the CRT is over $400 plus you will need to find out what caused the issue and repair that first.
