Can you go up in amps with the outlet without causing damage, they have a company truck at the site i'm at and it works fine in it

  • Jaime Johnson-Gadson Nov 08, 2013

I would say that if it works fine in your company truck and doesn't blow the fuse. Something strange is happening here. You can go up in fuse amp etc, but not too high.

You should try replacing the fuse with a higher amp fuse. It may be that the fuse resistance level is to low. You may need to repair or replace the mobile inverter if it still blows a stronger fuse. It may be that the inverter is malfunctioning and causing the fuse to blow. Check it for loose wires or screws etc., or send it back.

My fuel fuse for my 95 ford escort lx keeps blowing what could be causing this

The only time it blows is when you step on the gas and the car is moving and you're shifting from 1st to second. So if you left the car alone ...just start it and let it idle sitting still ...the fuse doesn't blow.

If that's the case then I would be looking at wiring. Like something is creating a dead short and blowing the fuse. Once the pump is running ...and that's typically when an electrical motor will draw its highest amp draw ...it stays running. My inclination is there is some kind of short and it happens when you move the clutch, the shifter or the throttle. Something is rubbing or coming in contact with the main power wire to the fuel pump. That's where I would start looking ....

1992 gmc pickup keeps blowing heater fuses I replaced the blow motor and it keeps blowing

Have you replaced the blower resistor . some times they can cause the fuse to blow . You may need a muiltmeter to test the current draw on the blower motor circuit. the draw should be less then half of the rated fuse .( 20 amp fues draw is less then 10 amps) You did not say but does the blower work on high only or the lower speeds with out blowing the fuse ? if it does work on low or high with out blowing the fuse i would replace the blower resistor

I have a 2-way amateur radio that draws 8.5amps plugged into the accessory outlet, and it continues to blow the 20-amp fuse. What can I do?

Assuming it worked at one time and this is a recent problem, double check the wiring to and around the unit. It sounds like a short is forming causing the fuse to blow. If a spliced connect has a bare spot it can cause a short and blow the fuse.

My 2002 f350 diesel keeps blowing the fuel pump fuse every couple of miles. What is causing this? I changed the filter and it made it worse.

the problem could be the fuel pump fuses only blow when they are overloaded ie. if you have a 15 amp fuse & the fuel pump or whatever is drawing 20 amps the fuse will blow,if you are using the right amp fuse the fuel pump is drawing too much power & may be faulty or there is a problem with the wiring, a loose connection or the like.....hope this helps....cheers

Craftsman garden tractor Mod # 917.257740 blows main fuse.

Try checking the battery - make sure it is not under rated - over rated and be sure the starter it's self isn't drawing too much amperage.
the battery may need replacing and for a temp fix - put in a larger fuse - say 50 amp.

My fuel pump fuse lasts for about 20 miles then blows again on my audi a4 1600 1997

I think your fuel filter is clogged, causing the pump to run too hard. This draws excess current and blows the fuse.

Fuse keeps blowing

If fuse keeps blowing that means that there is a shortage on AC wiring or switch controlling the air conditioner.

Also an abnormal power draw from AC caused by an internal fault on AC can cause the fuse to blow.
Test wiring and switch with a voltmeter, the most common is that there is a short to ground between wiring and car body somewere.
