I have a loud rattling noise in the front end.only heard when going over little bumps or ripples in the road slow. Its been in the shop 7 times the noise goes away for about a day after I pick it up, CALLIPER PIN BUSHUNGS have been replaced 3 times along with front end bolts were all loose plus many other parts replaced
I had the same issue with my 2005 Equinox. It was not the sway bar, but rather the steering column. Remove the black shield underneath the drivers side steering wheel. You will notice a little play in the steering shaft which causes the rattleing noise over bumps. Loosen the bolt that regulates how far the the one shaft is slid onto the other. Slide the lower shaft as far as it will go onto the higher shaft and tighten the bolt. Walla! Problem solved!
Have your sway bars checked. My front end made an awful ratteling noise and kept getting worse. I put all kinds of parts on it but finally replacing the sway bars fixed the noise
You need a sway bar repair kit. You can get both sides at Autozone for about $60. To verify, you can reach under and grab the sway bar and try to move it. It won't move much, but you can definitely hear that metal on metal rattle you're hearing, which I hear mostly when going over potholes and small bumps. I had a front-end specialist recommend this for me. He said it's completely safe how it is, but annoying.
Make sure you unit is grounded to eliminate the noise....make sure ur unit is away from a electric line like hallogen lamps or lamp shades..it has to be at least 2 meters away..
