first check your speedometer cable if it is not destroyed. This is caused by pulling your motorcycle reversed or backwards too often. So, all you have to do is replace it. Here in the Philippines it will just cost you P70.00. That's almost $2 USD. I don't know in your country.

You're flooding the engine out. Read the manual and break it in before doing full throttle runs. After the scooter has been properly broken in, you can accelerate to the speed you wish to ride, then back off of the throttle to maintain the speed. If you hold the throttle wide-open, it will flood the engine and stall the scooter which may cause damage.
