SOURCE: oil light stays on,

you have a direct to ground short in the wiring for these two guages. You will need to trace the wiring back to see if you can locate any breaks or bare spots that would allow this ground short and repair

I'd check the oil pressure switch (cheap fix) if it has oil pressure. Have you topped up the oil too much from worry about the low oil pressure?

SOURCE: hi there , my oil light stays on , all the time ,

If the level is good then i would shoot for the sensor/sending unit that supplies the gauge light with info to turn on. If you contact your local Suzuki dealer and ask one of the mechanics I'm sure they would be glad to give you any info they can on location and common problems with the sensor. Good Luck!

There should be an oil breather tube on the left side of the engine leading the airbox. Make sure it's there and cleared out. If the previous owner removed the air box and put on pod air filters, he may have plugged the breather line.

Also, check your oil level. Use the sight glass - only when the engine is off and the bike is level on the center stand. The sight glass is on the clutch cover - right side, bottom of the engine. There is a mark on the glass showing the correct level.

Check oil light stays on

Your vehicle may have an "oil level" sensor built into the oil pan. If so, and the sensor is bad, the dash will constantly tell you that the engine needs more oil even if it does not. Checking the oil with the dipstick, a minute after the engine has been turned off on level ground is always the best way to check your oil. Try scanning the vehicles computer systems to see if there are any fault codes. The warning light may also be on a timer that just needs to be reset. The "Check Oil" light should be separate from the engine oil pressure warning light. As long as the engine oil pressure light stays off, you should be ok. Checking the oil pressure with a manual gauge would be a good idea as well.

Oil light comes on, on my 1982 Honda 750 v45

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Insufficient oil level or no oil in engine or tank.
2. Air in oil system that needs to be bled.
3. Blockage in the oil tank or line.
4. Oil pump failure.
5. Faulty oil pressure sending unit.
6. Grounded oil pressure light circuit.

Oil pressure light stays on even though the oil level is fine

That could be from not having any oil pressure "oil pump failure, clogged filter, etc" or from a faulty oil pressure sending unit. More tests would need to be performed but is it really an oil pressure light or is it the change oil light. More info would be needed

1982 ford f150 oil light is staying on what does this mean?

It means that the pressure in the oil circuit is too low because either you have a leak or the oil pump has failed and must be replaced.
Take the truck to a repair shop immediately, the engine will destroy itself is it runs without sufficient oil.

Hi, A service center just recommended an engine flush for my 2001 xj8 vanden plas. I wondered if this is a Jaguar recommended service? Thanks, Andrew

I'm guessing they mean the cooling system. It is a good idea with any engine to have it flushed periodically. Permanent antifreeze is not permanent. It needs to be repaced regularly and it is a good idea to flush the system to clean out loose gunk when you do this. Unless Jaguar says NOT to do it, it should be done especially if it has never been done on your car. Hope this helps.
