1988 Honda CBR 750 Hurricane no spark on 2 and 3 cylinder

My Honda 750 CBR Hurricane only spark on two plugs number 1 and 4 I check the number 2 coil and it is working, where can the problem be

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Fouled spark plugs.
2. Severely discharged or a damaged battery should have 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage the battery is faulty and must be replaced, AGM batteries fail in this scenario more so than lead acid batteries.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Loose connection at ignition coil or plug between ignition sensor and module.
5. Spark plug cables in bad condition, shorting/leaking, spark plug cable connections loose check for spark leakage in the dark.
6. Faulty ignition coil or electronic control module.
7. Faulty pulse coil.
8. Faulty CKP, CMP, or BAS sensor.
9. Faulty ignition switch.
10. Tilt sensor needs a reset.
11. Security alarm failing to disarm needs reset

SOURCE: No spark on the plugs

i had similar problem, try also the connection of the pin the goes up the spark plug lead, sometimes it has crud and grease up there causing no electrical surge to go thru

1. Fouled spark plugs.
2. Firing order


These things operate on what is known as a wasted spark system. There are two coils each one has two spark plug leads coming from it. One of the coils fires cylinders number 2 and 3 the other one fires cylinders number 1 and 4 . Each coil fires both leads at the same time. Hence one of the sparks is wasted each time. If you could see the pistons going up and down in the bores you would notice that numbers 1 and 4 go up and down together and that numbers 2 and 3 go up and down together. When 1 and 4 are at the top. 2 and 3 are at the bottom. and vicea versa . If number 1 is on the firing stroke number 4 will be on the exhaust stroke. Also the same for number 3 (firing) number 4 (exhaust) Thats not exactly what you asked i know. But i think it will help you to understand how the plugs fire on most Japanese across the frame 4 cylinder motors.
