How do i remove a 1982 kawasaki kz 1000 starter motor

Follow the specific instructions in the Factory Service Manual. Step 1 - Remove the heavy wire from the starter solenoid. Either end will suffice. Step 2 - Remove the chrome cover over the starter. Step 3 - remove the screws that hold the starter motor in place. Step 4 - Lift the starter motor out of the engine. NOTE: removing the carbs may make this step simpler. The "business" end of the starter should come out of the splined starter clutch gear. If you have trouble removing the starter from the clutch gear, you may need to remove the left side stator cover to gain access to the starter clutch and chain. Go to www.scribd. com, there is a wealth of documents for the reading on any subject, I'd bet you will find the info there. I have found many tech manuals there that were not available any where else.

Battery keeps dying in my Kawasaki 900

possible reg/rec issue or the stator....if you have a multi meter you can check the stator by unplugging and hooking up to the stator (component side), set multi meter to volts a/c and connect each plug for voltage. then do a residence test on the stator.
reg/rec issue, make sure you have proper ground, do a diode test to make sure that it is d/c and not a/c

What do i need to remove, and how to replace a stator on a 1996 v7

The stator comes off with the right front side cover If I recall correctly. All you need is a set of metric wrenches.

Can I get a “very helpful” rating on this answer?

Behind the left engine cover. The engine must be almost completely removed to change it out.
