SOURCE: my hyosung bike wont start

flat battery,,, try charging it up,,,il give you a free tip,,,
if your going to stand the bike up for a long time,,
ie:weeks, then buy yourself a solar charger of 12 volts @ 2,4 watts and hook that up to your battery when you leave the bike, it will keep the battery toped up,, and all the solar sell needs to work is day light,, sun light is far better but good light will do,,,
free power,, i use them on all my bikes, no flat batterys so far,,,in 3 years!

This problem should be re-tagged gv650.

It's not your clutch, it's the kickstand killswitch. I had the same issue.

If you look down next to your kickstand on the left hand side you'll see a silver switch (looks like a mushroom), follow the cables up to the front end of the chasis near the sump and you'll find a black connector with two wires coming out of it. You can either bypass the connector using a piece of wire or just do what I did and clip the wires, wind them together and crimp them in a connector.

Start your bike and hey presto - problem solved.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: I have a carburated 2008 hyosung gt250r that cant start!!!!

I would say the clicking is not the battery but next to or above it is a starting relay which from your discription has gone out. You can locate it by following the large red wire comimg from the battery. The soleniod can be tested by jumpering from one side of the soleniod to the orthersid use a pair of needle nose pliers. If it turns over its diffinitly the culpert. Just change it out and ride on. They use a low amperage coil to close this larger load of the starter circuit.

My hyosung 250r wont move into first gear

First thing you should do is inspect your clutch and cable to be sure it's working properly and adjusted correctly. The problem may most likely be in the clutch, although it's possible the gear box-shift forks- mechanisms which physically moves the gears are to blame.
Can you get it in any gear? If so then the problem lies in the gear assembly which means a tear down.

I need 2,3 & 4 gear for Yamaha 1100 special 1982 model

Instructions
    • 1 The gears on a motorcycle run in this order: first, neutral, second, third, fourth and fifth. When you are moving, shifting up from first gear will skip over neutral and shift you right into second gear. The only time that shifting up from first will get you into neutral is when you are not moving.
    • 2 Pull in the clutch lever and tap the gear lever down until it stops. This will signify first gear. Pressing the gear lever down will shift you down one step and pressing it up will shift up one step.
    • 3 Tap the gear lever up one click while still holding in the clutch. This will put the bike into neutral.
    • 4 Start the bike. The bike needs to be in neutral to start.
    • 5 Hold in the clutch lever and tap the shifting lever down to shift to first gear.
    • 6 Release the clutch slowly and give it just enough gas to get moving.
    • 7 Listen to the motor to know when you need to shift. If the engine is making a low grumbling noise, then it will need to be shifted down. If it is making a high squealing noise, then it needs to be shifted up.

I own a 2008 Hyosung GT 650 and never had any issues until now. At first all I had to do was pull back on the clutch lever and start the motorcycle...no problem. Then I had to let off a little bit to get...

Hi, Paul_nason the ignition circuit cut-off system comprising of the side stand switch, clutch switch and neutral switch has the following functions:
a. It prevents starting when the transmission is in gear and the side stand is up, but the clutch lever is not pulled.
b. It prevents starting when the transmission is in gear and the clutch lever is pulled, but the side stand is still down.
c. It cuts the running engine when the transmission is in gear and the side stand is moved down.
Periodically check the operation of the ignition circuit cut-off system according to the following tests.
With the engine turned off:
1. Move the side stand down.
2. Make sure that the engine stop switch is set to "RUN"
3. Turn the key to "ON".
4. Shift the transmission into the neutral position.
5. Push the start switch if the engine does not start the neutral switch may be faulty.
With the engine still running:
6. Move the side stand up.
7. Keep the clutch lever pulled.
8. Shift the transmission into gear.
9. Move the side stand down if the engine does not stall you may have a faulty side stand switch.
After the engine has stalled:
10. Move the side stand up.
11. Keep the clutch lever pulled.
12. Push the start switch if the engine does not start you may have a faulty clutch switch.
This check is most reliable if performed with a warmed-up engine.

Bike starts but as soon as u engage gear shift it stalls bike

Does this model have a switch on the side stand. If so it could be faulty and fooling the bike into thinking the side stand is down and stalling it for safety.

The bike will not start/run.Fuel is getting through, the plugs are sparking. it trys to fire and backfires/misfirers.

Hi and welcome to fixya,

This can either be a Timing problem or bad fire. If you say the plugs are sparking, then it can be that it fires where it shouldn't be firing. The misfire can also be caused by a double fire on the plugs. Time the engine properly, adjust the timing chain, check for proper engine compression as well..
Hope this helps

My bike does not seem to shift gears should I be cruising as I shift or should I be pedaling

Your bike must not be the Cruiser pictured - that's a one-speed bike. So here's a general description--- For gear changes on multi-speed bikes, where the chain has to move between different size sprockets, the chain must be moving in order to shift. So, yes, you have to be pedaling, but it works best if you pedal very lightly - so that the chain is moving, but is under very light pressure. On the other hand, if you have a 3-speed bike where the gear changes take place inside the hub of the rear wheel, the wheel should be moving, but the chain should not - so you should be coasting to change gears.

Hi i have an 02 Honda cb250 that i cant seem to get the gear selector to operate. All was well until i bent the lever a bit to suit my foot as it had been bent purposely to suit the smaller previous owners...

The bike has a bent shift for or two. The engine will need to come out of the bike and get a complete teardown. A shift fork moves a "slider gear" left and right on a shaft. Both sides of the slider gear have "dogs" that engage into the side of an adjacent gear. This is how the different gears are engaged. A bent fork will not slide properly or engage properly. It is a costly repair. Note that if the inspection reveals a broken gear tooth, the smooth shaft that the shift fork slides on could be bent, and/or the gear shafts could be bent as well.
Can I get a “very helpful” rating on this answer?

Backfiring

Back firing, or after firing is usaully caused by an exhaust leak. Check around your header flanges for leaking.
