2002 volvo V40 wagon oil light stays on and engine is very loud

Don't drive your car!
If by 'loud' you mean there's knocks and rumbles - that sounds like serious damage caused by zero or low oil pressure. If there's no terminal damage yet caused by a lack of oil pressure .. there soon will be.

Don't drive your car. Get somebody qualified to have a look at it first. Your oil pressure warning light is on because there's no oil pressure. You're liable to destroy the engine (very quickly) if you run it with no oil pressure.

The first thing you should do is check your engine oil level. Make sure that the oil level reaches 'full' on the dipstick.

If your oil level has been unacceptably low - top up and start the engine. The oil warning light should go out within a couple of seconds. If not - it points at a problem elsewhere. Don't run your engine with the oil light on. Get a second opinion.

Cub cadet ltx1040 oil light on

Thomas, the oil light is on as a result of a signal from a pressure transducer that is seeing low oil pressure being developed within the engine. Unless the transducer is bad, it is telling you it is low on oil. A simple pulling of the oil dipstick while cold should show you a low oil level in the crankcase.

My low oil pressure light is coming on

firstly check your oil level. if your oil level is within spec you would need a oil pressure gauge and attach it to the engine and watch the oil pressure while engine is idling. if oil level is good on your pressure gauge you may have a faulty sensor or faulty instrument cluster. in addition check the connector wiring on the oil pressure sender, gm vehicles are not known for have well made electrical connectors or connector pins.

Oil pressure indicator lamp illuminates intermittently

1. check oil level now! If low, add as needed, and keep checking regularly.
2. If level is OK, check oil pressure switch (or sending unit), and the connections at the switch.
3. Have the oil pressure measured by a good mechanic. If the pressure is good, it means that the problem lies somewhere in the pressure sensor or indicator circuit. If the pressure is low, there is a problem in the engine - either a clogged oil filter, bad oil pump, or blockage within the engine.

Just bought a 2006 Crossfire. The area where the (Trip Milage) is, a beep then the Oil Logo with the word HI comes on once a day at least. The Manual says the Oil has too much and the oil pan needs to be...

Yes its mentioned correct in manual. The HI indication comes on when there is about 1 quart too much oil. Get the excess oil drained.----------- CHECKING ENGINE OIL LEVEL:-------- A sensor in the oil pan allows oil level to be checked
without opening the hood. It provides an accurate measurement of oil level, whereas the low engine oil level indicator warns that oil level is definitely too low. With the vehicle parked on a level surface, the engine is warmed up and shut off for approximately five minutes. When the ignition switch is turned to the ON/RUN position, an ISO oil level icon appears in the trip odometer window and a "clock" icon in the cumulative odometer display. Pressing the knob to the left of the speedometer twice within one second displays one of the following messages:
• OK
• -1.0 Q (-1.0L)
• -1.5 Q (-1.5L)
• -2.0 Q (-2.0L)
• HI
The indicated amount of oil must be added to the engine
if the message -2.0 Q (-2.0L) blinks and a signal sounds.
The HI message indicates that the excess oil must be
removed from the pan to avoid possible engine or
catalytic converter damage. If the ISO oil level icon and
"clock" icon remain on when attempting to check oil
level and no message follows, or if the low engine oil
level warning lamp comes on, a malfunction in the
engine oil level system is indicated. A conveniently
located dipstick allows manual checking of the oil level.
If no leaks are noted, continue to drive to the nearest
service station where the engine oil should be topped to
the "full" mark on the dipstick with an approved oil.--------------------

Oil light is blinking. Not due for an oil change for another 1000 miles.

Have you checked the engine oil level? This could be due to low engine oil or just a faulty oil pressure switch. Hope this helped...

How to reset oil light on dash of 01 1.4 golf

Oil lights do not reset.

Your Golf either has low oil level/pressure or the oil pressure sending unit/wiring is bad.

You need to immediately check your engine oil level. The instructions are in your manual.

If the oil level is low, DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR! YOU WILL DAMAGE THE ENGINE! Add oil as instructed in your manual and the light should go out within 20 seconds or so after you start your car. You will then need to check for leaks and/or find out why your oil was gone.

If the oil level is normal, you need to get the car to a mechanic to see if the problem is the sending unit or an actual oil pressure problem. Since at this point you cannot be certain, I recommend that you have the car towed to avoid engine damage that will happen if your oil pressure is indeed low.

Just had my oil changed and the check engine oil level low light is coming on . But checked it and it's not low , just on the full mark . It comes on everytime I restart the car . how do I fix that ?After...

You have to reset the check engine oil level light. The light is just a 3 month reminder that lets you know when to change your oil. You have to hold the reset button on your dash for more then 5 to 10 sec. The procedure is in the owners manual that came with the car.

Dic warning "engine Oil Low - Check Level" but the oil on dipstick indicates full - also oil pressure indicates normal????

you may have a sensor bad in the crankcase that detects oil level.
I would disregard as long as the oil is changed regularly, and you have no pressure problems and the level on the dipstick is within the cross hatches or between the low and high range.

Oil light came on, no oil dripping, making noises, possible transmission?

The oil light coming on indicates that there is no oil pressure in the engine, not related to the transmission. The first thing you should do is check the level of oil on the engine's dipstick. If it is low, top it up to correct mark on the dipstick. If it is not low, you have a problem within the engine and you should have it towed to someone that can find out why. If you continue to run the engine with no oil pressure while it's making the noise, the engine will self destruct. Diesel engines in particular do this rather quickly when they are not getting oil to the bearings.
Happy New Year,
Dave
