SOURCE: needing diagram of how to tighten handlebars on motorcycle

You have to remove the headlight, then the Nacelle ( passing lamps if you have them ) Under the lock ( which is removed with a small flat head screwdriver ( it's held in by 3 little push in tabs ) There are 2 phillips head screws( remove them ) then once you have the headlight out, there is a 5/16 nut holding the top chrome spine in place. Remove the nut lift the spline. then remove the nacelle one side at a time. Once you remove the nacelle the 1/4 allen bolts are right there to tighten. Make sure you tighten them evenly. Reverse steps to re-install back to normal.

I don't know what the laws are in Norway, here in the Colonies, it is generally legal to change stock handlebars for after market handlebars. I wouldn't modify the handlebars by welding, myself. If I were so inclined, I would purchase what we call "Ape Hangars". We have some ridiculously huge handlebars available in the aftermarket market. To my mind, they cannot be comfortable to use and there are probably some safety concerns. Then there is the wiring that must be extended. Affect resale? Depends upon who you expect to sell to. I wouldn't be the slightest bit interested in a bike that was not stock ... but that is just me. You can get your legal question aswered at your police department ... just ask them.

How do i change handlebars on a 2010 Dyna

Unplug the handlebar wires where they connect to the wiring harness. Remove the black electrical connectors at the end of the wires. Pull the wires through the ends of the handlebars. Silicone lubricant sprayed into the bars will make this a bit easier, and you should be able to leave the silver pins on the ends of the wires, saving yourself some work when installing your new bars. Leave the wires connected at the handlebar controls when doing this. Just unscrew the controls from the bars and pull the wires.

My throttle won't snap back. I recently packed the end of the handle bars with silicon to help with vibration. Now my throttle sticks and won't snap back right away. How can I fix this?

I'd be willing to bet that you have gotten silicone on the outside of the bars between the handlebar and the throttle sleeve. But, let's try this first. Loosen the two screws that hold the right handlebar switch halves together. Once you get them loose, slide the throttle assembly and the switch housing towards the end of the handlebars about an 1/8" or so. Not much, just a bit to make sure the end of the handlebar is not rubbing inside the throttle grip at the very end. Tighten the screws and try the throttle now. If it works, tighten the two screws securely and loosen the bolts for the front brake master cylinder and slide it down against the handlebar switch housing so you brake light will work correctly.

If this doesn't work, try loosen the cables just a bit. If they're adjusted too tight, the throttle will stick.

If that doesn't work, you'll have to take the throttle sleeve back off the handlebars. Clean out the inside of the sleeve and the handlebars good. Then apply a thin even coat of white lithium grease to the inside of the throttle sleeve and on the outside of the handlebar. Slide the sleeve uo on the handlebar and work it around to make sure it moves absolutely freely. Then reconnect the cables and reassemble the switch housing. Adjust the cables and make sure the throttle works as it should.

Good Luck

I am trying to install Z Bar handle Bars on my Harley Davidson. I need install instructions on how to thread the wires.

I assume you are talking about running the wiring internal of the new handlebars and you need to know how to pull the wires through the them. You need to get a "fish tape" through the bars. The easiest way to get the fish tape into the bars is to start off by getting a string through them.

Use a shop vacuum and connect it to one end of the bars. Plug the other end of the bars temporarily. Turn on the vacuum cleaner and feed a string in from the hole in the center of the bars. If the bars are not too rough on the inside, the string will be sucked out the end of the bars.

Once you get the string through the bars, form a loop on the end of a scrap piece of wire and use the string to pull it through the bars. Now, use the wire to pull the switch wiring through the handlebar.

You may want to put some type of "sleeving" over the switch wiring so that you don't skin the insulation off the wires as you pull them through the handlebars.

Good Luck!!

Removing some of the parts from yor bike ll give you sporty lok. 1. Replace the chain guard with semi covered one 2. remove the saree guard 3. remove the original handlebar and install 3 peice handle bars. 4. increase the size of rear suspension. (this can be done by increasing the size of the metal holder in bottom end of the suspension).
