go to this http://www.cmsnl.com/yamaha-rt1-19701971_model8356/partslist/A-09.html and then click on "view big image", this will give you a diagram of the clutch etc,, the adjustment (No. 26) may need looking at, or (No.11,12,) have broken.Basically you turn 26 in (clockwise) untill you feel light resistance then back off 1/2 turn (been years since i worked on one of these!) this should give you freeplay, have you just got the bike?, and do you think it has been stripped lately(ie the clutch). SOURCE: 2006 yz 125 breaking push rod in clutch

That is a bit strange. Did the previous owner install stronger springs than the stock ones? Compare the effort to pull your clutch handle to what it takes on a new 125. Be sure you have clean 10w40 motor oil in the gearbox. No synthetics or special additives. Replace the rod and the lever assembly. The rod, lever and oil should eliminate the problem assuming the springs are stock.

pull the slave cylinder off and push the piston back in the cylinder then replace all should be ok.

try opening the bleed nipple on the slave cylinder so that you are not trying to press against the pressure plate when you push the rod into the master cylinder.

Adjust a clutch on 2005 toyota echo


CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT:
(a) Check that the pedal free play and push rod play are correct.
(1) Depress the pedal until clutch resistance begins to be felt.
Pedal free play:
5.0 to 15.0 mm (0.197 to 0.591 in.)
(2) Gently depress the pedal until the resistance begins to increase a little.
Push rod play at pedal top:
1.0 to 5.0 mm (0.039 to 0.197 in.)
(b) Adjust the pedal free play and push rod play.
(1) Loosen the lock nut and turn the push rod until the correct free play and push rod play are obtained.
(2) Tighten the lock nut.
Torque: 12 N*m (120 kgf*cm, 8.7 ft.*lbf)
(3) After adjusting the pedal free play, check the pedal height.

Put clutch cover back on have good clutch pull but clutch will not disengage. Any ideas?


Check that you have not lost anything in the clutch push rod ,some push rods have a small ball bearing that fits on the end of the push rod ,and is easily missed or lost .

Need a 2003 polaris preditor clutch diagram


Try to adjust the play in the cable at the clutch perch, leaving play in the cable. If that is ok, then check the push rod adjustment if it has one. Bottom out the push rod screw and thebn back it off 1/4- 1/2 turn out. Chaz Moto DC

Theres a rod in the bottom of my yz250f enegine 2004 wtf is it?


You are probably refering to the clutch push rod. When the clutch lever is pulled in it moves the clutch arm on the outside of the caseing. This actuates the clutch push lever to push the rod into the center case. The internal end of the rod actually pushes the clutch apart to disengage the gears from the crankshaft. Without the rod there would be no clutch action.

Clutch push rod broke !!!


Chances are the prior owner installed some aftermarket springs that are too strong. This puts extra pressure on the push rod. Just pull the left and right cover of then remove the clutch assembly. put the new rod in from the left side then re-mount the left cover. Put the clutch back on then the right cover. The parts book shows a two piece push rod assembly. I wonder if a hardware store rod was installed because the factory rods are near impossible to find. The substitute rod probably couldn't handle the pressure and heat.
If not found elsewhere, google motorcycle salvage suzuki and see if you can find a used rod set.

How to install a clutch?


the mechanic should place or connect the clutch pedal spring to the clutch pedal .connect the push rod to the clutch pedal.then connect the push rod to the clutch master cylinder then refill the clutch master cylinder .by means of pressure tube connect the clutch slave cylinder .then connect the clutch slave cylinder to the push rod .And the push rod connect it to the clutch pork. the clutch pork connect to the spring. then connect the fly wheel , the clutch linning ,the clutch disk ,the release bearing,then the clutch pork to the transmission shaft . then connect the transmission assembly.And you can goon with your date.

Clutch wont engage after kickstarter shaft installation.


The clutch lever must have been pushed in when i tried to install the push rod the first time so the push rod didn't get pushed in all the way.
