Hi i have a honda cbr125 r 57 plate. when riding i experience loss of power/ spluttering. im going to take the bike apart 2mrro, what should i look for and check

SOURCE: bike coughs,splutters and even backfires more so in low rev's

Either take the carbs off and clean them or add some fuel additive to clean the system. Sounds like you have a clogged jet.

hy I have gpz500s 94" and the rotor just brake to part,and I put a zzr 600 rotor in and now I have a problem because the zzr rotor didn t have a sensor on the rotor ve weld the old sensor of the gpz rotor exactly there were was the gpz rotor,but now at 5000rpm just stops for a second and its runing...I dont know whats the problem..

Hi, if the the bike is idling at a normal rpm but keeps on stalling you probably will need to service your carbs or at least clean the pilot jet as this is probably blocked/dirty.Bike carbs are simple and once the float bowl is removed you can get the pilot jet(smallest jet) out with a small bladed screw driver and clear it.

Hi you need clutch plate and springs and if the metal plates are scorched replace them also. Then make sure they sed sdjusted correctly there should be some free-play in the lever around 3-5 mm. When you sed doing if change the oil and filter it will be destroyed by the fried clutch. Have fun. Jim...

1. Severely drained or faulty battery.
2. Faulty regulator/rectifier or high output coil.
3. Faulty power valve, solenoid or installation.
4. Clogged air filter or exhaust.
5. Cracked or incorrect float level.
6. Float needle is not seating.
7. Faulty reed valve.

Kdx 125 sputters just before the "powerband" kicks in

Sounds like you have two issues.

Your spluttering and jolting sounds like a defective Reed Valve, but could also be carburetor float level problems. If it is runs fine when on the power band, then the carb is fine. For the cost, I would replace the reed valve.

Regarding the electrics, this could be a few things. Check all the earthing points, especially the one on the negative side of the battery. Take the wire off where it grounds to the frame, clean and apply Vaseline which stops corrosion and is electrically conductive. Check all the connectors that you can find. Pull them and make sure they are clean and sealed. Vaseline is good on these too. The specs below confirms it is rectified and regulated. Check the output voltage of the alternator with a test meter. Check the battery is as spec Battery 12v 3Ah and get it stress tested, or just replace it, if it older than 3 or 4 years.

You really need a good workshop manual. I had them for all my scooters and bikes.

Im having shifting/clutch problems on my bike. when i shift down to stop my bike it will go to neutral and wont go into first gear,i really have to try hard. my clutch leaver becomes so stiff i can barely...


The shifting problem is a bent shift fork. The clutch problem is chatter on the outer, and/or inner, clutch hub and fiber friction plates. The friction plates are catching in grooves worn into the clutch hub by the friction plate tabs. The hub should be smooth. My cbr 900 rrx is spluttering below 4000 revs?


Seaform will fix this trust me...go to autozone oickup a can put in 1/3 of can into approx two gallons off gas and ride at least fifteen miles hard and it will run alittle rough at first but it should kick in while you ride.

CBF grinding sound


i got an cbr 600rr and somtimes when u press the clutch in it makes a little clicking kinda noise..its just a noisey down side to honda bikes i guess..or it could be somthing to do with ur clutch cable or somthing..im not to for sure tho and that weezing/rasping sound..i am currently havin the same problem.im not sure if were havin the same issue but when i start off and ride around 0-5000rpms it makes a rasping noise..and iw as told this is the chain tensionor and that they are generally bad on honda bikes...i was told go with a manual one..not sure if these are theproblems ur having but sounds somewhat close..hope this helps
