Question about 2005 Honda Activa
I too had this problem,
Take a long stem screwdriver, I had a 1.5 feet long screwdriver, take a hammer handle or wooden to lift the seat, a torch to see the lock
Lift the seat by force on the center left side, push the hammer handle or similar stuff to leverage and get a small opening to see the lock, take the screwdriver and position it in the middle of the plastic cover of the lock and hit the screwdriver on the handle with a hammer, this will break the plastic covering and will give you a peak hole to see the locking mechanism, there is a small liver with a slit for the cable to sit, which now needed to pushed use the long screwdriver, try it couple of time it will open, I had success

Hi- you've confused the side cover with a box- it's just a locked cover that's held into place with grommets. Once you've turned the key, the side cover will pop out by pulling firmly on the top of it, and it will pop back in when you're ready to put that beautiful piece of chrome back into place. The other side's cover fits over your battery, and doesn't need a key to be access. It's opened the same way, in fact in opens best when the key isn't in the ignition because it can be in the way. Ride safe!

Most dealers do not keep the original key number, it is sometimes written amongst the handbook and other paperwork you receive, if you do not have any luck with your dealer and cannot find the key number, try removing the actual ignition and taking it to a master locksmith, if you have a helmet/seat lock and it is the same as your main key than it may be easier to remove those locks, a master locksmith can cut the original key for your barrel/ignition.
