What is the problem when onboard computer indicates exhaust warning

O2 sensor may be bad or there is a higher than normal pressure in the exhaust pipe. You may have hit a high spot in the road somewhere crushing the pipe.

What is a catalyst converter and where is it found in a vehicle?

Called a catalytic converter and it looks like a small muffler in the exhaust. This is the first the exhaust hits and is filled with something that will remove carbon emissions from the exhaust before it leaves the tail pipe. You'll find it at the front of your vehicle incorporated in the exhaust pipe.

Knocking sound coming from passenger side rear wheel when slowing down

Could be a number of things, but one that is not thought of generally is the exhaust pipe. After checking the lug nuts, the spindle nut, and the shock absorber bolts to be sure they're tight, grab the exhaust pipe (when it's cool) and shake it around and see if it hits anything. I've had to bend the hangers on exhaust pipe and muffler to realign the exhaust pipe so it doesn't hit the suspension. The clearances are fairly tight right there by the wheel.

Engine loadsup and back fires why

Check for faulty cat converter. They crack and block up the exhaust pipe. Test by hitting the unit and listen for rattles. Check for crank position sensor failure . Check for fault codes

My 1999 chev. tahoe backfires when i step on the gas

The problem sound like you have too much back pressure building up in the exhaust. Start by disconnecting the exhaust Y-pipe. Then start the engine and run again if the engine does not back fire, reconnect the exhaust everything after the Y-pipe. If the problem returns it is safe to say that the catalytic converters are clogged and need to be replaced.*** Make sure you use PB BLASTER or LIQUID WRENCH on the exhaust bolts to help with removal.***

My Pajero back fires and hold back in motion

Backfire problems sometimes involves mufflers and exhaust pipes, ignition timing and carburetor.

* in carburetor, might some residue, rust and other particles is stacked up that's,might get overflowed and this is one reason why it backs fire. need to overhaul the entire carburetor and it should be clean as well

* Ignition timing or distributor is connected to high-tension wire that may cause lose thread. this may fix when the engine is starting while adjusting distributor to a certain timing.

* muffler and exhausted pipe, it the some pipe got to much carbon and rust, this will stop the pressure coming from the engine and it takes back fire. To solve this, simply spray water on muffler using a hose and then start accelerating gas until carbon and rust comes out. (this is what i've done in my car,and it works)

* intake manifold is also a reason why it back fire because if the fuel engage too much and also said to be lack of flow, fixing this problem may do correcting or balancing the mixture of fuel percentage.

Hi the purge light is blinking orange

If its a newer model with PVC supply air and exhaust piping, Try removing the exhaust piping at the furnace. Turn the power off for 15 or 20 seconds then try it again. The piping may be restricted or a draft may have hit it.
