SOURCE: i have a honda xlr250 1988 model,the problem is

Remove the cylinder head cover then tighten the four head bolts holding the head and cylinder to the gearbox. Hopefully you will not need to find and install a new cylinder gasket.

The head and cylinder can not be removed as a single unit. You will need to put the piston on TDC compression, then check for the cam positioning mark or marks to see where they line up. This is the exact positioning the cam gear must be reinstalled at. Remove the cam gear from the cam and the chain but first hook a piece of wire to the chain so it can't fall down into the crank area. Now the head can come off then the cylinder. The simple diagram is your engine. the other one is generic and shows alignment. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

Here's the easiest way:

Put the head bolts back on snug. Put the spark plug back in snug. Put the cylinder base nuts back on but leave them about 1/4" away from seat. Now give the kickstarter a swift hit down - you can do this by hand. Repeat until the cylinder pops up. Now, loosen the head nuts and repeat.

This is the easiest way to remove a cylinder.

Hope this helps.

2. Insufficient or blocked air flow over the engine.
3. Heavy combustion chamber carbon deposits.
4. Ignition timing retarded due to faulty MAP, CKP, or CMP sensor.
5. Carburetor jetted too lean.
6. Leaking intake or exhaust valve.
7. Water coolant old or low change every two years.
8. Water pump failure.
9. Radiator clogged, cap loose or malfunctioning.
10. Radiator fans not coming on.
11. Clutch slipping, brakes dragging, heavy load, towing a trailer etc.
12. Idling too long without moving.
13. For constant hot weather temperatures, mountain, or desert riding conditions consider adding an oil cooler and or cylinder head cooler.

Too much smoke means too much oil in the fuel, check the auto oil injector, if its electronically controlled, you can try disconnecting battery to reset the system.

Some not so nice person put peebles and glass in my honda xrm rs 125 motor.what to do?

Where exactly was the debris inserted?

If it's in the fuel tank, then the tank must be drained and removed to clear out the debris and the fuel lines up to and including the filter will need to be checked and replaced if needed. The fuel filter must also be replaced at the same time.

If it's actually in the carburettor intake, then it will need to be removed and cleared out, and the intake manifold will also need to be removed and checked. It will also be necessary to remove the cylinder head to check for further debris, and if there is then the engine crankcase will need to be opened and cleared out. Note that if any gaskets are disturbed during disassembly then you must discard the old ones, clean the mating faces and fit new gaskets upon reassembly.
