Question about 1979 Honda GL 1000 (K3)
There is two bolts 10mm i thimk that holds starter on. you need to disconnect the battery first. Also disconnect the starter wire. Sometimes I drop the exhaust manifold if i feel like it. You can remove the starter to see if it is actually working by hooking it up to a battery. If the starter clutch assy is bad, you have to remove the frame rail, the engine, take off the 11 bolts from the rear cover, remove the alternator rotor assy, etc. This happens sometimes when the starter is good. Is good to have friend help when r&r engine..Hope this helps you with your scoot, Rick
