Question about 2004 Honda CBR 1000 RR Fireblade

1 Answer

Bike wont Start.

I have a 2004 honda CBR 1000RR i just purchased. The bike seem to run fine upon purchace. The fairing are in rough shape and i took them off last night to prep for paint, started the bike and it sounded like it was running off two cylinders. So i shut it off. Looked over my connections and tried starting it again and nothing. I have the tip sensor in the correct position. Anyone have and ideas?? The fuel pump runs and it turns over. its almost like it not getting spark. I checked the ignition moduel on my newer bike and it works.. So idk..

You can accidentally UNPLUG the tip sensor if you remove/jar the front fairing. Verify that it is plugged in. If you uninstalled the tip sensor, make sure it is installed in the correct position. Here's the service manual next steps after that check: First thing the SM states when you turn the key and get no fuel pump "noise" is to inspect the fuel pump by measuring the voltage between the terminals. If there is battery voltage, check the main fuse (20A), sub fuse (10A), engine stop switch, fuel cutoff relay (relay box under left middle cowl), engine stop relay, bank angle sensor, and finally, ECM.

Does anyone have a service manual for a 2004 cbr 1000rr fireblade

Hi, Allen the vast majority of service, parts, and owners manuals on the internet are "FREE" to download and all service manuals contain wiring diagrams in the back pages. The rest usually charge a modest fee around $10 and there is a handful of obscure, rare, obsolete, and very old models that are no longer or never were available, for these rare occasions I shall look on eBay and find the cheapest one available. Most of the manuals will cover your exact make, model, and year otherwise one will be provided that comes as close as possible to your bike and will have most of the same info that an exact manual would have. Hi, Samuel I always suggest running a can of fuel stabilizer (Sea Foam) in the fuel tank to eliminate possible injector clogging issues when the possibility of a fuel related issue exists for more information about your question and valuable "FREE" downloads that you will need please click on the websites below. My 2008 CBR 1000 RR wont start. It turns over but wont fire without throttle and fans run constant? Any ideas?

Hi, Superspor231 the reason your bike failed to start is stored in your original ECM as a generated fault code, replace the original ECM and retrieve the code and go from there, for this scenario you will need your service/owners manual if you can't find the first and best tool you ever bought for your Yamaha, despair not, for a mere zero $0 you can download another one.

In cleaning your bike you have caused some sort of problem. Start with checking the battery terminals to make sure they are connecting properly. That is what your problem sounds like. Then check to make sure you have not dislodged any electrical wires, and lastly, get your battery checked to make sure that it has not dis-charged during your cleaning operation. This would be easier with a manual if you have one.

My 2004 honda cbr 1000rr has a loud rattle and i was told i would need new valves. is this an expensive job?

Needing new valves is highly unlikely. Your bike is only 5 years old.
Before doing anything else, run through a tank of premium gas. If the rattle goes away then a bit of pre-ignition was present. If the rattle is still there, take the bike to a dealer and ask them to reset the cam chain tensioner and set the valve clearances also. This may cost $150 or so. Chances are that if the knocking is still present, you are hearing piston slap. This would require new pistons, rings and probably fresh cylinder bores. Have the shop re-seat the valves while the top end is torn down. Ask the dealer as to cost before handing over the bike.
