Sprayed the brake switch, with what? Water? If so, you can try to use some contact cleaner spray and spray into the switch area and work the switch to help it penetrate. WD40 is also a water displacement item which might help, but it may also require relubrication of the brake lever/perch. You may also check on the perch to see if you can clean and dry the wiring connector that runs from the perch back. A hair dryer or heat gun might help dry it out also.

SOURCE: how to lower the idle on a 2002 yamaha 650 v-star classic?

under the left side of the gas tank you will see i black knob/screw at the end of what looks like a hose. the knob faces the rear of bike. that adjusts the idle. its real easy to find and the only adjustment you can make to the carbs.

SOURCE: my 2007 yamaha v star 650 keeps blowing the fuse

There seem to a 'live' wire (in the turn signal, brake light or horn circuit) touching the frame of the bike and thus the fuse blowing.
You will have to trace out the short-circuit.
You can start wth removing the connections to the turn signals thn fit the fuse and see if it still blows ....like wise remove the wire to the brake light and thn check if the fuse blows, same to the horn.
In short ..you can remove all the wires connections to these and thn fit the fuse and refit the wiring connections one by one ,where the fuse will blow after connecting the wire to say brake light thn the problem is at the brake light wiring ....likewise to the others ...onces you identify the circuit tht has the problem thn it will be easy to trace it and rectify it.
Hope this helps!

Where is the brake light fuse on the Yamaha v star 1300

Hi, Pat before diagnosing any brake light issue always check the bulb and fuse first for integrity a brake light staying on is usually caused by the front brake light switch, witch is mechanical, not disengaging. On early models moving the throttle control housing closer to the front brake master cylinder is the main fix. On late models, the switch gets tweaked and needs to be realigned. A brake light that does not come on when the brake lever is applied can be caused by a faulty switch or no continuity in the wiring at the switch. The rear brake light switch is hydraulic and it is extremely rare to malfunction in a closed circuit condition causing the brake light to stay on. Usually, rear brake light switch issues are caused by no brake pedal free play or a sticky rear master cylinder piston. A brake light that does not come on when the rear brake pedal is depressed can be caused by a faulty switch, air in the brake line, or no continuity in the wiring at the switch. Remove rear wheel from yamaha 650 v star

The final drive has a spline shaft. Raise the rear wheel off the ground , loosen the rear axle nut, take out the axle bolt, knock out the spacer , unbolt the rear brake caliper and hang it so you do not stress the brake hose ( unhook the brake rod and unbolt the stabilizer rod for drum brakes) , grab the wheel, and slide it sideways away from the final drive. The wheel should slide right off the spline of the final drive and roll out the back under the fender. If the wheel won't slide past the final drive let the air out of the tire. Be sure to coat the spline of the final drive with moly60 paste from your local Honda dealer when reassembling.

When I depress the front brake lever I have no brake light but when I use the foot pedal it lights up. 2005 yamaha 650 classic. is this an easy fix

Front brake light switch is likely bad. Look on the underside of the lever for the switch & connections. If you connect the terminals and the light comes on, it is your switch.
