SOURCE: can't get any spark on rear left ignition coil

I didn't notice the year of the bike but
the orange wire comes directly from your TCI ignitor unit.
It might be a faulty pickup coil or the ignitor unit itself.
the pickup coils are in the right engine case and
have about 110 ohms resistance.
If there is no ohms reading on the pickup coil then
it is faulty.
If the pickup pulse coils are good then your
main ignitor unit is probably faulty.
Sometimes the solder joints can crack in them.

My 2002 Yamaha Road Star Midnight has no spark

Hi, Jeff orange wires are usually, but not always, power wires and the usual suspects are:
1. Fouled spark plugs.
2. Severely discharged or a damaged battery, should have 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Loose connection at ignition coil or plug between ignition sensor and CDI box.
5. Spark plug cables in bad condition, shorting / leaking, spark plug cable connections loose, check for spark leakage in the dark.
6. Faulty ignition coil, pick up coil, trigger coil or CDI box testing needs to be checked with an ohmmeter at 70 degrees Fahrenheit
7. Faulty safety switches clutch, kickstand, neutral, off/on etc.
8. Faulty ignition switch.

Firing orange spark

orange spark indicates low voltage from low battery. faulty coil/s ,bad HT leads , bad condenser in distributor if you have points. ,failing ignition module if pointless distributor.

What is the purpose of the coil charger

not sure what you mean by a coil charger. if you are referring to the coils under the flywheel, that is the equivalent of an alternator. the actual ignition module or coil doesn't have a charger. the alternator has nothing to do with the ignition module and the color of the fire. there is nothing wrong with an orange colored spark unless you have an HEI module at which point a special spark tester is required

What causes plug wires to fire orange?

The fuel pump has nothing to do with spark, common sense

Why would you listen to anyone-- except an experienced
mechanic at a repair shop?

The computer only grounds the ignition system, to
turn off the ignition coils primary windings & collapse the
secondary field windings, to create the spark at the plugs

You need to know what your doing

You need a good blue spark & also know how much
voltage you have

I suggest you don't check anything your not knowledgeable
on,as you may ruin some module or the pcm through improper
testing methods

The fuel pump only runs 3 seconds if the PCM sees no crank
signal

You can check injector pulse as well as spark

If you keep cycling the ignition key ,you fill the cylinders
with fuel & possibly hydraulic the engine & ruin it

I think a repair shop is in order

There is no blue spark ,

Test the coil, or try a known good one. Beyond that, a weak spark (like orange) or no spark means an ignition system failure- ignition module (can also be tested at a parts store), Crank Position Sensor, Cam Position Sensor, poor ecm performance, bad pllug wires. Check the easy stuff first-coil,, ignition module, wires.

2001 geo metro is firing orange from all coils, it's getting gas and the timing and compression is good

You have a problem with your coil packs . One of them is bad likely the main one . The spark should be blue and have a good snap sound . Look for bad connections to the coils and oil leaking from them . Its wireing or a bad coil its to hadr to be more specific with out seeing it

My 2002 suzuki tl 1000 is not starting and the battery its good what could it be. when i turn the ignition nothing turn on i check the the relay an fuses and ther good

Check the ignition coil unit to start with. Is the spark blue or orange? Take sparkplug out,..put on plug cap...touch bottom edge of plug onto metal..[cyl. head], turn bike over...and check for spark color. If spark is "orange",..the coil is shot...replace it.
