How do I set the throttle cables on a v92c 2001?

Almost all bikes will have throttle cable adjustments on both the carb (if equipped) and right on the handle bars. Simply loosen the locknut and adjust the spinning hex shaped barrel til you get the desired amount of play. Personally I like having almost no play whatsoever, even though it is recommended that you give it a couple of millimeters to account for the handlebars turning.

1980 ss 440 injector adjustment

On your throttle cable, where it goes into the metal housing, there isn't an adjustment, follow the cable down to the end of the cable. there should be a cylindrical barrel type connector there with a screw in it. your throttle cable runs through that. loosen the screw and adjust your throttle cable accordingly. "Note-there should be at least a 1/4 inch of play on the thumb throttle on the handlebars"......good luck bro

Why does my polaris mv700 quad start, but as soon as i let go of the throttle it dies?

Sounds like the ETC switch on the right handle bar is not adjusted correctly. If there is too much play in the throttle cable, points inside the switch will contact and kill the spark. On the throttle cable coming out of the box on the handlebar, there is a rubber boot. Inside the boot is an adjustment screw, turning clockwise will loosen throttle play, counterclockwise will tighten throttle play. The thumb throttle should have 1/8 to 1/16 inch freeplay before it starts to tighten against the throttle cable. Try that and let me know, that usually is the culprit. Daniel

2010 Gold Wing Throttle adjustment. i have too

There are adjustment dials at the throttle. You do want about an 1/16 `loose throttle' before it kicks in.

I have some play in my throttle control how do I ajust it or should I take it in.

You want some play in your throttle control. If you adjust the cables until you have no play, your throttle will quit automatically returning to the closed position. Not a safe thing since most people today are accustomed to the throttle doing that.

Now, you don't want too much play either. less than a 1/8 of a turn. Take the play out by adjusting the throttle cable first and the by adjusting the idle cable. The throttle cable is the front most cable where it enters the throttle twist grip.

Important, once you adjust the throttle cable, you must insure that it operates correctly. Twist the throttle to the wide open position, with the engine OFF of course, and release it. It must automatically return to the fully closed position. Failure to insure the proper operation of the throttle can lead to serious injury or death.

Good Luck

Yes, if the throttle body has an adjustment screw, then leave 1/4 inch play.

My kmx is losing power it's like hesitating especially uphill and .lack of throttle play

So adjust for some throttle play at the adjuster nut at the top of the carb.. Remove and clean the carb. Move the clip on the jet needle down one notch. This should take care of the problem.
Best wishes.

Mechanical question

That's interesting, I have run throttle cables for many years with minimal stretching. Are you tightening the lock nut at the adjustment? And are you sure you have the cables adjusted properly? Specifically the return cable, if it is too tight it will conflict with the primary cable, this will cause the primary cable to (over time) pull on and eventually stretch the return cable. Try loosening the return cable, then with the throttle wide open ,tighten the return until it has just "a hair" of free play. Then adjust the throttle to where it has just a very small amount of free play ,then tighten the lock nuts. Then check to be sure the return cable has some play when the throttle is closed and if necessary re-adjust.
