Several things here. Do an oil change, 10w40 motor oil. Run premium gas and install a new NGK spark plug one heat range colder than stock. It sounds like you have an air leak causing a lean fuel mix. Check the carb mount bolts and the intake manifold bolts for tightness. Also set the valve clearances with a cold engine > .002 intake and .003 exhaust. Check for any cylinder head leaks. This would show up as oil on the cooling fins at the base of the cylinder head. Tighten the head bolts if needed.

SOURCE: 2005 Rmz250 wont start when hot.

YOUR BIKE HAS A POWER VALVE (DIAPHRAM FUEL PUMP) THAT GIVES A SHOT OF GAS EACH TIME THE THROTTLE IS TWISTED. WHEN THE BIKE IS HOT, IT FLOODS EASILY. DON'T HIT THE THROTTLE WHEN STARTING THE BIKE WHEN THE ENGINE IS HOT.

SOURCE: I have an 04 RMZ 250 I just re-shimmed the valves

sounds like maybe valves were shimmed too tight, check service manual for clearances...better a little loose than too tight, can cause alot of damage to cam & head,be careful!!

I have an 05 with the same problem. Sounds like your STVA went out. Do you still have your butterflies wired open? I know how to repair the stva fixed mine, and saved hundreds....if your still on this post email me so we can get our bikes fixed. also check your kick stand sensor! This can malfunction and cause same stalling problems.

Craftsman riding mower runs mows fine for about 10-15 mins then sputters out and wont restart tuill bout half hour later

two things can be doing this ,
(1) fuel tank pick up is broken in half and works till gas works it way down to break , proof of this is when u add more gas and it starts right back up
(2) breakdown in ignition system , this can happen in a few places (if I knew your model number I can tell u more) eventually It will fail and never restart

Riding my ttr 250 Runs fine then just dies when ded no headlight starter or anything. I wait 10 mins kick it and starts rides about 2 Mins and dies again what could it be?

Maybe trash in your carb. Take the carb off and clean every hole you can find. Put it back together and reinstall. Should work fine.

Intermittent failure of hr detection

Several issues with the Polar unit, 1 if it is in the cold the unit does not work properly. 2. If your layering yourself the unit will not work properly. 3, If the unit is not place properly on the body and there is not sufficient moisture, the unit will not work properly.

The best that I can suggest is make sure that you have sufficient moisture on your body, hold the polar cs100 near your body till it detects a heartbeat, the place back on the bike.

If your layering do to weather, you may not get it to respond till spring. I know what a waste.

By the way I had the CS 200, and I can't begin to tell you how many of my riding buddies had the same issue that your talking about including me.

The situation with polar rarely has to do with with interference but with a weak transmitter.

My 04 rmz250 is overheating. It started smoking 3 different times when i took it out the other day. Id let it cool down for a few, continue riding and about 20 minutes later it would start smoking again....
