SOURCE: how do i fix my yz 125 1989 water pump the water

1989, Your kidding me right?. I'd hazard to guess that you"ve blown a head gasket and there ain't nuthin' wrong with the water pump , seems to be pumping fine. Time to spend a bit of cash on the old girl hopefully a new head gasket will get you by but how far can you go before something else packs it in.I mean if youve been replacing piston rings, big ends and little ends then all is good but if you don't know about the service history well.............Goodluck.Hope i've been helpful to ya skeff .

Hi I bought a Longjia raptor 125 he said it was running and the next won't start anyone have any ideas thanks

Check the valve clearances are not too tight .usually the exhaust valve tightens up and it loses compression. Set the exhaust to 0.08mm and the inlet to 0.05mm .I have also seen one of these with the rubber seal in the fuel tank for the fuel level sender break up due to perishing and block the fuel pipe up.

I have a 1996 Yamaha yz80 that oil is coming out the exhaust pipe. I am running 40 to 1 ratio gas oil mixture. Any ideas what may be the problem?

Two strokes just leak oil especially where the pipe meets the motor you could try new oring but seriously only be worried if you dont have oil leaking from exhaust on a two stroke is rule of thumb

Hi wat shud the compresson be on a honda varedero xl 125

At least 100 psi to run, but should be 125-140 psi
If your not getting any compression and you don't think the rings are bad, then check you valve clearances. If a valve is stuck open, you wont get much compession.
Put motor on TDC. Put are hose in exhaust pipe and listen to see if air is passing through head.
If so the exhaust valve is open.
Blow air into intake side and listen if air is escaping through head. If so, the intake vaklve is open

At TDC both valves should be closed on the compression stroke.

Assuming everything is back toether properly and was not the problem the frst place, remove the exhaust pipe to expose the exhaust ports to ensure they are not carbon block. Also check the exhaust it self for a spark arrestor screen that could hve been carbon fouled and clogged. Cannot free flow because of the problems noted above, you will not be able to run a two-stroke engine reliably.

There is a lot of smoke coming outfrom the exhaust pipe- kmx 125

The best way to control the smoke when you have a bad automatic pump is to do what most other bikers do. Drain the pump and don't try to use it to supply oil to the gas. Instead, add 4 ounces of two stroke oil to each gallon of gas that you put in the tank. This equals the recommended 32/1 mixture needed by the engine. It may take a tank or so to rid the crank chamber of any built up oil but soon the amount of smoke will be no more than anyone else.

Please rate this answer. Thanks!

Oil out of tail pipe

Hi,
This is not uncommon.
Things to check first would be your fuel mixture. You might be running a bit rich. You should be using a mix of 3.5 percent synthetic oil.
Being a 2 stroke, the tail pipe cartridge needs replacing from time to time, as it does collect oil with time. If the bike is a bit noisey change the packing.
Always remember that there is oil in fuel used on 2 strokes.
Lastly check the type of oil you are using. Mineral oil does tend to be a bit messy as the mixture requires around 5 percent oil.
Most off road stores now keep good LOW SMOKE oils such as Motrex.
Stick to good synthetic oils !
Cheers
Jon

Trouble with speed.

Yes. The application of a proper pipe on a two-stroke motor is critical. The 250 pipe has way to much volume and not enough back pressure to allow the 125 motor to breath properly. Also check the ignition timing carb jetting and power valve for proper working order per Honda specifications.,
