$1. Seriously tho, appraisals are best handled by a APPRAISER. Since it isn't new in an unopened box it's hard to say - physical condition will vary it's value IMMENSELY.

I would like to know the value of this Martin guitar serial no. 1610197

Your guitar was made at the Nazareth Plant, PA, USA in 2012. This does not give us the model of the guitar, so only an approximate answer is possible, but a top model may be worth around US$2000 depending on condition. Other cheaper 2012 models sell for under US$1000.

To be certain, I'd take it in to get appraised.

That said, looking elsewhere, it's probably not worth a lot, though I couldn't find that specific model on a quick search.

That serial number would correspond to a guitar built in 1959. The model will be either be stamped on the neck block seen from inside the guitar or on the label visible through the sound hole. Martin's phone number is 610-759-2837 and they may be able to provide more specific info.

Just trying to find out the worth of my dads guitar

If it's in good condition, a 1960's Martin could get $2,000 or higher. This assumes nothing is cracked, the neck is straight and it's playable. If you know nothing about a guitar or playing one then you need to get someone to check it out. Overall, i'd expect it to be worth $2k or more, though the true value is what someone will actually pay. Put it on ebay and search for comparable guitars there to get a true market price.
