Rebuilt engine not starting

I am working on a 1997 Ford Taurus 3.0 V6 not the overhead cam engine. I have replaced ever gasket and seal along with timing chain and gears. The car will not start. I have the timing right, gas, and spark. Is there a reset on the computer?

Check the cam sensor or replace located on lower intake. Fixed a car like that it was the cam sensor.

1997 camry ce 1mz v6

Almost certainly it is coming from the rear bank cam cover gasket, for which leak the Camry V6 is notorious. Other common places are the distributor shaft o-ring seal, the crankshaft nose seal (replaceable), and the oil filter adapter bracket (if fitted)

If you get the cam cover gaskets done, specify Toyota parts, as the aftermarket parts don't last, they harden quickly.

2001 ford taurus 3.0 ohv cam shaft sencor location

The single and double overhead cam engines take different sensors - it should be under a wiring harness close to the throttle cable.
Did you check the computer for trouble codes ?

2002 Passat, 30 valve V6 has oil leaking on exhaust manifold. VW dealer says its the cam adjuster seals. It looks to me like its just the valve cover gaskets but I can't get an engine schematic to see the...

I have a 2000 Passat V6. They told me that same thing. To replace the gaskets is easy. You just remove the covers and the air filter box and unscrew the 6 bolts holding the valve cover on it and there you go. You want to clean around the gasket service and add a little bit of sealant to the edges. Replace the old gaskets and put everything back together, be careful not to overtighten the bolts, can flatten out the gasket and cause oil leak again. On the right side of the engine, you have to remove the coolant box to get to it. Same procedure....

What is the cooling system capacity of a92 ford taraus 3.0 v6 engine? I need it to use Blue Devil

Hello Diggit.
There were two 3 liter engines available in 1992.
If yours is not the overhead cam equipped engine the capacity in a dry system is 11 US quarts.
If you do have the overhead cam engine it is 11.6 US quarts.
There you are.
Thank you for using FixYa !

I need a picture of the spark plugs on a 1998 ford taurus numbered

I don't have a link with pictures, but I will describe the cylinder and coil numbers for both the overhead valve (OHV) and the overhead cam (OHC) as best I can.
Facing the engine from the front bumper.
On the 3.0 overhead valve (OHV) the cylinder location looks like this:
1 2 3
4 5 6

The coil location looks like this:
5 1
6 2
4 3

If you have the 3.0 overhead camshaft (OHC) engine again facing the engine from the front bumper your cylinder location looks like this:

1 2 3
4 5 6

Your coil location looks like this:

4 6 5
3 2 1

I hope this was helpful.
