Why does my Poulan Pro PPBP30/30cc backpack blower have no power?

It may be fuel starved from either blockage in the carb or a broken intake fuel line. You can dump the fuel and mix up a back of fresh fuel with some system cleaner added and run it through and see if the unit picks up a bit. If a system cleaning doesnt improve performance with the gas tank empty look inside the tank and see if the fuel line is broken off or split. Many times fuel lines just get broken from alcohol fuels and age.

There is a vent in the tank, it is situated on the right hand side of the tank, close to where the fuel hose exits the tank, the early vent looks like a round white pellet, the later vent is a white plug with a nipple on the top, the later vent will just pull out with long nose pliers, the early vent has to be extracted useing a self tapping screw, this of course will destroy the vent.

Filled up my tiller with mix fuel ran it to half tank then it stopped running, when depressed the throdle it bogged out and stalled, restarted did the same thing, now pump bulb won't fill with gas either

One of 2 things has happened. You might not have mixed the 2 cycle oil in the fuel correctly when you added gas and you now have a large amount of 2 cycle oil in the fuel system or.... You have debris in the fuel system that now needs to be removed.

The fact that the primer bulb is not working is telling you that there is not fuel coming from the fuel tank. Most 2 cycle fuel tanks are vented. There is supposed to be a rubber in the top of the fuel cap that allows the fuel tank to breathe. If there is a vapor lock in the fuel tank due to the rubber missing or there is some other non-original form of fuel tank cap gasket, this will cause your current symptom.

Additionally... if your fuel tank line has fuel shut off manifold at the carb attachment point there is a tiny white screen inside that fuel manifold that clogs. You have to remove the manifold BOLT and then slide the plastic screen out of the manifold to clean it.

You have to ensure that with the fuel line to the carb disconnected that you have fuel flow to the carb. I suspect the problem lies in the line from the fuel tank. Some models have an in-line mini filter that can also clog. Just check for fuel flow at the carb connection... no fuel then check the tank for debris and the fuel lines for obstructions.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Just cleaned out my father's garage and came up with a Toro 524 snowblower this unit has not been running for over 6 years what should i do to get it up and running? can't find an owner manual online...

You need to clean the carb, make sure fuel lines are not cracked and brittle (replace if necessary) , clean fuel tank thoroughly, especially if there was still fuel in tank. Check for spark, mix a new batch of fuel (if mix is required) and start that mother it will probably run as good as new. Good Luck...

NO GAS TO THE CARB HOMELITE 330 IF I PUT SOME GAS IN CARB IT RUNS FOR A FEW SEC.

Chain saws are known for plugged/pinched fuel lines

Drain the fuel tank
Remove the fuel line from the carb.
Blow air back in to the tank
Rinse out the tank
Repeat several times
Make sure your gas cap is clean and the vent in the cap is not plugged.
Make sure your air filter is clean
Refill with clean gas mix from a clean gas can
It should run for you
Let me know if this does not solve your troubles

Shaemeus forcing a fuel line and breaking the carburetor will certainly be more expensive than saw shop service. Take the saw in. Most are barbed fillings, if one is exceptionally difficult let the saw shop break it and pay for its replacement. While there ask them to demonstrate how to disconnect the line. I suspect rather than a blocked line you have a hole or crack in a line.

A tune up with hose replacement I estimate at $60 at a Stihl shop.
New plug, new fuel filter, pressure/vacuum tests, carburetor adjustment. Actually a pretty good deal, tune up ($40). ALL hose replacement ($20).

If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. Thank you for using FixYa and Good Luck. HTH

If the gas is old, for example, last season, change the fuel ..drain the tank, carb and fuel line.
Also clean the air filter... this can have similar effects on start/run.

Pull the spark plug and clean it also, you can use spray carb cleaner on the tip, and then clean with fine sandpaper.
then replace the fuel with fresh fuel/oil mix.

A good spray can of carb clean will work to clean any build up in the carb jets, fuel line etc...

It just stopped getting fuel to the spark plug and has a full tank and primer bulb is full. Spark plug is dry. Ran for about ten minutes but did have trouble keeping it running.

It sounds like either the fuel pickup line in your tank separated or broke or you have a clogged fuel port in your carb. fuel pick up line in tank: remove gas/oil mix - look inside your tank and see if the pick up line is attached (thats the one with the filter) to the rest of the line. if it is attached: then you probably will have to take the carb off of your machine and very carefully clean the fuel ports in your carb. do this with a thin piece of wire - you will see the holes in the body of the carb - make sure you dont lose any parts when taking this off - put them in a box or something. - hope this helps

I have a Echo chainsaw model 452Vl and am not able to start it.

Hi, It does have a filter of sorts but is on the pickup inside the tank and should not need changed. Drain the fuel mixture and check all of the plastic lines and primer bulb for cracks or kinks. Put in a fresh fuel mixture that has not been sitting, (They don't run on old mix) and try starting again. The thought process is that if it starts on the starting fluid it can only be two things, old fuel or no fuel. If the fuel change doesn't work it is probably not getting fuel thru the carb, these oil mixes gum up rather quickly and if it sat for awhile with fuel in it it may need the carb cleaned. Good Luck to you, hope this Fixsya!
