Excell 2003 please advise how to format the data in indian number system say 12,12,23,555.60 rather thab 121,223,555.60 thank you

Its a waste in finding a solution because Indian number system does not follow a logical path.

How many general menus does excel have?

Thanks kind of depends on what version of Excel you are referring to.

Version 2003 and previous has the following standard menus,
File, Edit, View, Insert, Format, Tools, Data, Window & Help.

Version 2007 and later as the following standard menus
File, Home, Insert, Page Layout, Formulas, Data, Review, View

How to format cell to Indian Rupee

Hi,

You need to right click on the cell and click on:

Format Cells, Number Tab, Currency, Select Rs.

That will convert the cell to display INR.

Select Any single cell or group of cell, Right click --> Context menu will be displayed ----> Select Format Cells options --->in Format cell Windows Under Number Tab in the Category Section Select Currency and Under Symbol List Select Rs or INR as Indian Rupee Currency .and then Click okay Button

This sounds like the Column of the data you want should be changed when you import the text file.
Right click on the column letter,
Left click on format cells from the drop down list and select the cell Con-tense you want to display.

Forgot password to open Excel sheet

If you mean that you can open the Workbook and read the Worksheet - then all you have to do is select all and paste it to another Worksheet. This will allow for changes of formulas etc.

If you mean the whole Workbook - then I dunno.

In future, either use the same password for everything (easy to remember) or Protect the work with nothing entered into the password field (leave this blank). This last will protect the work from people who try to guess your password, but will be easy for you to remember - eg every password is left blank.

If you must use unique passwords, then keep a record of them somewhere other than on your computer.

Sorry I can't help with the "Workbook" solution - but somebody else out ther may be able to do so.
