Cannot log out of Facebook

I can't log out of my Facebook account. When I try to sign off on my PC, I get a message that MSN cannot log me out of Facebook even though I logged out of my account on the Facebook web page. Do you have any suggestions for remedying this problem? Many thanks for your help.

I have the same problem. I'm new to Facebook, and ever since I created my account, every time I now sign out of my hotmail and/or live.com accounts, I get the message that MSN cannot log me out of this site: https://ssl.facebook.com/accept_token.ph.... I'm not even logged into facebook, and yes, I completely shut down my computer at night. The problem crops up again in the morning when I log onto hotmail, then log out, without even entering the facebook site. Help!

how do you have as an ISP (internet service provider)? MSN?

That is weird, but in anycase, I would try deleting my cookies and private data from your browser to see if that helps.

What browser are you using? (if you're not sure how to do the above, let me know what browser you're using and I can give you step by step instructions) :)

The solution I found is simple...
1) Go to the "Tools" option in InternetExplorer
2) Then go to "Internet Options"
3) Select the "Delete" option in the browsing history section.
4) Menu will appear, simply UNTICK THE FIRST BOX! which states "Preseve favourites website data".
This will remove the facebook cookie and stuff so when you log out of hotmail you will not see that message about not being able to log out of facebook anymore =]

Hope this helps It really should!

Please help to Log out from facebook

  • Anonymous Sep 21, 2012

Well, you must have been insane to have logged into Facebook in the first place, and hopefully this will serve as a painful lesson to doesn't WANT you to logout, which is why they make it difficult to do so, As long as you are logged-in, you are being tracked, and this means more money from their advertisers. They;re scumbags, like all corporate pigs are. The easiest way to logout is to simply delete all the Facebook cookies, and how you do this depends on your browser, but it's easy. Now stay away from Facebook, Twitter, and all those sheeple-networking sites and get yourself a real life with real people.

Why does my MacBook Air keep telling me that my facebook account is locked?

This may have more to do with your Facebook account than with your MacBook itself. Try signing into Facebook from another computer using your user name and password. If your account is OK, change your password. Go back to your macBook and log in with your news password. I have the problem with my Ipad sometimes. Often Facebook will send you a message apologizing for problems logging in. Try logging in from that message.

Can't log in to msn.com

When you log in to MSN a website powered by Microsoft you also log in to its Hotmail and Messenger programs.

Hotmail is MSN's email program, while Messenger is an instant messaging and networking program.

Because Messenger and Hotmail are connected to MSN, if you have problems logging into one program, you'll likely have issues logging in to all of them.

Register for Account

The first step to logging in to any MSN-powered sites is to have a Windows Live ID.

This includes an email address, which acts as your username, as well as a password.

The email address must end in either "@hotmail.com," "@live.com" or "@msn.com."

Even though these emails use different domain names, all can be accessed by logging in to the Hotmail homepage.

If you try to log in to MSN or any of its partner sites like Hotmail or Messenger using anything but a Windows Live ID, you won't be allowed to access or create a profile and will be prompted to create a Windows Live account.

Incorrect Password

The most likely reason you aren't able to sign in to your MSN accounts is user error.

Entering an incorrect email address or password will return an error message, informing you that either the email address you provided isn't registered with MSN, or that you entered an incorrect password.

MSN and, hence, Hotmail and Messenger passwords are case sensitive, so check your keyboard's settings before retyping your password a second time.

If you don't remember your password but know your Windows Live ID, you can opt to reset your password by answering some security questions pertaining to your account.

Browser Issues

A slow browser can impact your ability to log in to your MSN accounts.

Try deleting your browser's cookies and clearing its cache before attempting to sign in again. This process varies from browser to browser.

For example, in Internet Explorer, click on the gear icon, "Internet Options" and click "Delete" under Browsing History.

Check the "Cookies" box and click "Delete."

Internet Issues

A slow Internet connection can also hinder your login attempts.

Check your Internet connection to make sure you're connected to the Internet.

Also, check that you're working online instead of offline, which can prevent you from logging in.

Click on the "File" tab at the top of your browser, and make sure there's not a check mark next to the words "Work Offline."

If there is, click on the words to uncheck that option and sign in again.

There might be some interference from another browser

Create the menu tab on your homepage right click in the top toolbar you should see a number of toolbar options select the menu tab which will add File Edit View Favorites Tools and Help

Click on the tools at the bottom of the drop down list will be internet options or
click start control panel internet options you will see a home page box To Create Page Tabs type

each adress on its own line (type in MSN.com) or you preferred home page and browser
below that will be change search defaults click on settings you will see all search providers you have if dont need any of them you can disable or remove them.

Hope this helps.

Staying logged in at home and using my account elsewhere...if I send a message from my account~while at a friends house~will I be able to see the sent messages from my home network since I never logged...

Even if you leave your account logged in at home, when you access your account somewhere else, it will automatically sign you out from your facebook at home. Also, you will be able to see your sent messages from wherever you access your facebook account from.
