Pull the slide and move the jet needle clip down 1 or 2 notches.

Bogs past idle

when you go to acceleration ,there is a power circuit in the carbys that allows for extra fuel to increase the rpms.
it is either a power valve or pump operation. This circuit is not working ( blocked or non-valves not fitted correctly)
if there is no such circuit , there is still a blockage in the main jet and emulsion tube circuits.

750 virago 1983. Dying after giving it any throttle

If the bike has been sitting awhile it more than likely needs a carb clean. But don't do a carb clean by putting any kind of cleaner in the gas. It will just plug the jets that much more.

HELP !!! I have a Yamaha VStar 650 that will Idle but as soon as I give it a little gas it dies.

Probably you did not need to replace those, are both cylinders running?
was the motorcycle sitting for any length of time?
make sure the carb low speed jets are clear use carb cleaner the can with the with the tube and make sure the low speed jet will flow the fuid through it. if its clogged take a strand of copper wire and clear them.

We have a yamaha mx 80 and it starts but then cuts out as soon as you give it gas, we really want to ride it around the yard, is there an adjustment we can make?

Not knowing the year of your bike, I would suggest the following; Remove the float bowl and clean the entire carb with a spray carb cleaner from the auto parts store. Wear protective goggles to avoid getting spray in your eyes. Spray into all the little airways and fittings in the carb. Remove the idle screw and the air screw on the outside throat of the carb and spray into the screw holes as well. >
Be sure to put these two screws back in the same hole they came out of. IMPORTANT > do not tighten these two adjusters down. Only screw these in until they LIGHTLY seat. Now turn each adjuster one and one half turns outward. Put the rest of the
carb back together, clean the air filter and install the carb. Let the float bowl fill then start the engine. Before putting the slide back in the throat of the carb, move the clip on the jet needle one notch lower.

Please rate my answer. Thanks!

My yfz 450 yamaha 4 wheeler runs great in 1/2 choke, but when i put it down to idle it starts to miss and dies, I have replaced all of the carb and I am getting ready to asemble everything, the one thing I...

start about 2 turns out.
while idling when you screw it in a bout half a turn the bike will begin to bog down (rich)
as you screw it out the revs will increase and become uneven(lean)
pick a point between the two where the idle is smoothest.
this setting can change with different engine tempuratures, and altitude
