I changed the headlight, the fuse is good in fusebox, but my headlight still does not work!
More than likely it is your reserve lighting device, located on the right side of the battery box. this is more than likely the problem especially if you have had a problem with a voltage surge( ex. problem with the regulator/rectifier)
Have the same problem. Changed the reserve lighting device and did not help. Changed the junction box wiith the fuses and the made the headlight work. - For about 2 minutes. The bike stalled and the light never came back on. Don't want to spend another $140.00 changing parts. The local dealer says they won't work on my Vulcan bc it is a 1987 and to old.

Check the head switch tht could be the culprit!
SOURCE: headlight not working fuse good bulb good no power to switch
i had the same same problem with my 1992 vulcan 750. more than likely it is your reserve lighting devive located on the right side battery box. have you had a problem with your regulator/rectifier lately or a power surge of some type?
More than likely it is your reserve lighting device, located on the right side of the battery box. also test battery voltage at rest, then start and recheck with a volt meter.at rest should be at 12 or a bit over, cranked should be at around 13 or 14, rev engine, you should be at 14 or more, had same issue on a 92' ended up being stator was going bad, and rectifier was replaced.
