Question about 2004 Suzuki RM-Z 250

1 Answer

My suzuki quad 250 wont start after it stalled and has no spark.

I bought a 2002 suzuki ozark 250 quad (I know that this is not the category I entered in the website but there was no quad category so i picked the closest category) from the paper and it ran when i bought it and when i got it home for 'bout half an hour while i lubed it up and sprayer carb & choke cleaner in it after it warmed up let run 'smore and jumped on it in eager antisipation and it stalled out immediately (lol). eventually found that there is no spark but the headlights pulse when i try to pull start it i found a device with 2 X 20 amp fuses changed them and discovered that one was just a spare fuse holder also the keyswitch ignition is missing and the battery is dead as well havent been able to get new ones yet.

HMMM ! not real familiar with this model, but first of all you'll need to get yourself a key cut by taking the serial number from the ignition barrell and your model /year number to a locksmith. Then charge the battery to full.then you'll need to find out if the charging system is working.Quickest way to do this is take a static and a live reading of battery volts accross the battery with a multi-meter the live reading should be a tad more than the static reading. Also it`s possible that you may have disloged some dirt/grit from the intake when you spayed carb cleaner and it has blocked one of the low speed air jets or pilot jet.......Good luck ..KEN from NAIDIA....HHHHHEEEEEE!!!!!! ......Flabbycat

2007 Suzuki 250 quad battery is dead doesn't have kick start. Had it on trickle charger for four days still dead. Can I use a jump starter on it if not what are the recommended battery replacement

Hey Michele,, if the original battery lasted this long.. you are lucky,, just replace it. >>> Always use the exact replacement battery<<<<... your quad is designed to take the exact size and amperage rating,, trying to change this is inviting too much trouble,, When you get a new battery,, it will be charged unless you purchase one online that comes with the acid pack,, EITHER WAY - put the battery on the trickle charger for 48 - 72 hours BEFORE you use it.. This will extend the life of the battery a bunch and make it a stronger battery,, ..(this is from too many years of experience.)

I have a 2002 suzuki ozark 250 2x4 that is very hard to up shift.

Hey Barry, has the quad been flipped onto the left side,? Sounds like you may have a bent shift shaft...one other possibility is the shifter needs adjusting (some newer engines do not have adjustments). I am guessing it is easy to down shift? If the shift shaft is bent.. be careful , you can easily crack the engine case!!

Check the clutch lining and release bearing. Normally, you would also have to change the pilot bearings.

I have a 2002 Suzuki Ozark 250 ATV. I only has about 11 hours on it and was in storage for years. I rode it without problem last fall but now is difficult to start and will not idle. I drained the old gas...

I don't have a solution but I do have the exact same problem, '03 or '04 (not sure) Suzuki 250 Quadrunner Ozark, really low hrs, left in storage for 2.5 yrs, gas went bad, cleaned it out, now hard to start and won't idle by itself.
I have taken the carb apart and cleaned it out, but did not replace anything, and it will still not start very easily or idle. Before I took the carb apart I thought it was flooding because it would start with the accelerator wide open, but when I would let off, it would die again. Whats going on?? I really don't want to pay to have it fixed.

Suzki ozark 250 cleaned out tank and carb runs but will not idle

sounds like the float is not working properly , could also be the jet. would be a good idea to buy a carb kit, not very expensive and save a lot of grief.
