Question about 1992 kawasaki VN 750 Vulcan

1992 Kawasaki 750 Vulcan Shuts Off

My Vulcan will completely shut off while I'm riding. I completely charged the battery and cleaned all of the connectors. Once it shuts off, it won't start (its like there is no power getting to the starter) until I completely charge the battery again. Is this something I can fix realively easy on my own? Are there any guides about this problem? Thanks.

It sounds like you are running out of battery, and that is why the bike is quitting.

Have you checked the charging?
Check the battery voltage with a meter after you have charged it. should be 13.5 volts or so. Start the bike, you may have lost a little but the voltage should increase as you watch the volt meter, rev the bike, Any increase?
If there is no increase or if it is decreasing in voltage then I would suspect you charging system.

Hope this is of some help.

Bike wont charge 92 750

According to information I have found this model uses what is called a Stator to keep the battery charged. If you aren't knowledgeable about Stators, check this video out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWU2TbEePsY&feature=related

The following is a website that shows a inexpensive repair. http://www.vn750.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16839

1999 kawasaki vulcan 750 wont turn on. Seller reported clogged jets? Not a battery or gas problem for sure.

If the unit actually has clogged jets, then it certainly is a gas problem. I suggest that you clean the carbs, and replace the fuel.

2005 kawasaki 750 vulcan, starts hard and doesn't seem to be charging,is it the stator??

i have found on these bikes that if the battery is not strong enough it does not crank the engine fast enough to start easily. Especially like it sounds like you are concerned about the charging.Maybee jump start the bike with a strong battery of a car or powerpack and see if this still happens. Beware when jump starting not to short the leads you could blow your CDI.

It is just a vent tube. It runs down to the ground. If you look closely, you should have another that also runs in front of the battery and to the ground also.

Electrical, motorcycle, slap side to make starter work

Sounds like a loose wire in the battery box somewhere. Or even under the seat is where the wires run after leaving the battery box.

You will have to clean the carbs, it seems theres fuel (gas) starvation at those rpms., maybe the carb float chamber is low on gas,try to reset the float level, blow the main jets too.

Stator

Behind the left engine cover. The engine must be almost completely removed to change it out.
