It seems the starter motor has jammed in or it could be the solenoid switch which has jammed thus operating the starter motor directly.

I have a 2000 tl1000r everytime i turn the key and the humming from i guess the injecter wont stop humming

The hum is the fuel pump, it should run a couple seconds then turn off till you hit the starter. If it stays on with the key off the relay is likely sticking. If it's only on with the key on it could be the relay or a fault in the ECM. Verify that the relay and the signal wire haven't been bypassed; been there.

1978 super beetle won't crank. battery good. turn key, hear faint humming sound, nothing from engine

think you may have a faulty starter motor here ,this year vehicle will be of the pre engaged type so no seperate heavy duty solonoid unlike older cars ,i would expect a click of the solonoid and nothing if the starter has burnt out but its possible that the solonoid on top of the starter has failed but without a look myself and only a description i cannot diagnose correctly .Try some jump leads just to be sure it isnt a flat battery then check the engine earth to chassis cable then remove the starter motor and have it checked out

Won't turn over... just makes a clicking sound... and a wierd humming sound.

Try cleaning your terminals at the battery, even if not corroded. In my years as an alarm/radio installer I have come across this problem constantly, especially on GM vehicles.

Your 2000 model bike has a starter made by Nippondenso and the starter and solenoid are unitized. Your problem is what is known as the "over running clutch" and it has gone bad. It is a replaceable unit but it requires not only the removal of the starter but disassembly of the starter as well. If you can do the work yourself, you can save some money by replacing the clutch. If you can't do the work, just have the entire starter replaced. The labor time involved in disassembling and reassembling the starter will eat up any savings you might have realized by replacing the clutch rather than the entire starter. It takes about an hour to disassemble the starter and replace the clutch after you've got the starter off the bike.

Good Luck
