Removal of a choke cable on qr 50 Honda

In my experience they don't have a choke cable. It is a pull out knob on the carburettor for choke that you push back in as soon as the bike starts. The cable is the throttle cable and goes to the handlebar grip. Oops, they do

Poss diaphram problem, on the side of the carbs you will see a small cover secured by 3small screws, inside here there is a small diaphram used for adding fuel while you slow down from speed to save backfireing in the exhaust, when this fails exsess fuel is added to the engine while running, when you remove the cover dont loose the small oring

Idles high then low seems to bog down when applying throttle.

there is probably a blockage in the carburettor producing the wrong mix of fuel and air.
Check the settings and strip down to clean as required.

5HP Honda (HRU215) mower hard starting power loss

Either the choke isn't operating fully or there is some dirt in the carburettor. Check the choke first by putting the throttle lever full to the start position, the see if you can still pull the inner cable further at the bottom end. If you can, then you need to undo the clamp at the engine end and pull the outer cable back a bit before reclamping it in the new position. If that isn't the case, you will need to dismantle and clean the carburettor - probably a job for your local dealer..

have had the same problem many times. spray carb cleaner into hole where the brass plunger is located give it a little time to let the cleaner work. put some force on the cable it may come out if not remove the cable at the other end so you can remove carb to work on it

looks like your carburettor's giving out a rich fuel mix there or you've forgotten to turn off the choke get you carb tuned or jetted for better mileage (at a loss for speed - acceleration & power... if that's not important to you).,,
