Question about 2006 Yamaha YZF-R1
I was on my way to put gas in my r1 and the bike started sputtering because lack of gas. I put some gas and ran the bike and it still has the same problem. Whe i try to take off from a start the bike has no power and starts making a clacking noise .
This is the 4 cylinder bike right? Well, if there is nothing blocking the gas flow (which is definitely what I would check first from the tank to the engine, sounds like you did already, follow the line, maybe blow some air through it). If the line isn't blocked, then the fuel pump sounds like the problem. Another thing that it might be is a choke problem or a timing problem but very unlikely unless it seems to be really running bad Also, you're sure it is a lack of gas and not too much right? Have you checked compression on the engine?

Maybe the pipe connecting from youe gas tank to your engine is damaged or bad. also try to test your battery.
