Question about 1996 BMW K 1100 LT

1 Answer

!996 1100 LT Brake lights always on!

I replaced my battery and the end (connector) on the negative cable wires. Is it possible that one of those (brake) wires is not connecting?
When apply front or back brakes it seems like the rear brake is stuck
on!!!
Thanks,

the probability that the power wire to the switch will short out if you touch it to any metal part and possible blow a fuse
it is not necessary to remove the negative cable if the wires to the switch is in a plug or properly insulated or if you carefully remove the power wire and insulate it with electrical tape

Replace ignition switch

1. Remove seat.
Always disconnect the negative cable first. If the positive
cable should contact ground with the negative cable
installed, the resulting sparks may cause a battery explosion
which could result in serious injury.
2. Disconnect battery cables, negative cable first.
3. Unscrew ignition/light lock ring. Push switch back through hole.
4. Cut switch wires approximately 3.0 in. (76 mm) from switch body. The new switch must be spliced into existing wiring harness using splice connectors.
5. After splicing new switch into wire harness, place switch into position. The word "TOP" is marked on the top of the switch body to allow for proper positioning of switch. 6. Install lock ring to secure switch in place.

Replace battery saturn sl1 1998

Disconnect the negative and positive battery cables from the terminals on the battery. Take that battery out. Now then buy another battery for you make and model. Put the positive and negative battery cables on the battery terminals of the new battery. MAKING SURE, you have them on the RIGHT CABLES ON THE RIGHT TERMINALS. POSITIVE --- (RED) as the NEGATIVE CABLE is ----(BLACK). If you get them mixed up and try to start the car or something. You will blow a ton of fuses. and no telling what else! Its not hard as long as you can read the (-) << NEGATIVE (BLACK) WIRE and (+) << POSITIVE --(RED) WIRE on the battery.
