04 Honda Rubicon Foreman 500.I took apart the carburetor/cleaned it because of old gas. When I reassembled it it now only runs at half throttle even the throttle is depressed fully. Help!

the diaphragm in the top of the carburettor sounds like it is not lifting the slide up.i would say either the spring in there is jammed up or bent over or the rubber diaphragm itself is not sealed around the top of the carb properly ,you should assemble it by using red rubber grease to stick the diaphragm into the groove in the top of the carb.

Engine will start run for 3-4 seconds and quit. All switches are on and full of gas @ proper mixture

It will be one of 2 things piston is scratched or the diaphragm and needle need to be replaced either way u will have to take carb off take look at piston to see it's condition and dissect carb. If the diaphragm is not flat and is warped it is no good and will need to get a kit to replace the carb part's

Piston carb conv. to diaphragm carb

The carb may have a throttle slide but it will probably be an all position carb with a pump diaphram on the side, there will not be a non all position carb on a modern machine.

Where is the carberator? the chain seems to be loose, and it takes a while to start,

Carbs are Normally located Just under fuel tank sometimes visible
However on your bike its built into the engine when replacing pistons you should normally also replace carburettor Piston and Diaphragm.

Throttle sticks at full

Sounds like the return spring got squashed. Take the top off of the carb, free up the spring and, if it isn't broken, reassemble carefully.
Try it afterwards, if it still sticks it could be the cable.
